Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Seeking a caregiver companion for my 97 year old father who is currently living independently in a retirement community in Rockford Illinois. He is still active, going to all the social gatherings in the community (chapel, lectures, presentations, concerts, gym classes). He is a retired bio-chemist, and though he can speak when needed, his conversational English is limited and we are looking for someone for him to have conversations in Japanese.

No signs of dementia other than forgetfulness, some slowing down in how he moves and walks but generally very healthy. He has been enjoying living in his community (since 2016 when he became a widower) and has a great network of residents that look out for one another.

Accommodation

We have a single family home in the same town, a 10 minute drive away. For the trial month period, we are thinking of providing a private room in this house, and transportation to the retirement community. If this becomes a longer term arrangement, we will look into moving our father into a 2 bedroom unity.
