Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi! We are an international family leaving in Germany. We can't wait to welcome you in our family this year!

Job Description

My husband's job is very flexible in terms of hours. He can work from home 50% of the time. He is required to travel sometimes.
I am currently attending a nursing degree. I have periods with classes and regular hours (from 8:30 am until 4 pm) and periods where I work in hospitals with early and late shifts (from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm).
All the children attend school and daycare during the week, from 8 am to 4 pm.

We are looking for help with the children when my husband is out of town and I have early or late shifts at work. This should be 3 days a week maximum. When I work early shifts I will leave very early. The Aupair should wake up the kids, help them to get ready for school/daycare and walk couple of them to daycare. When I work late shifts and I come back home late, Aupair should pick up couple of kids from daycare and stay with all the kids at home until I come back. As I said, this should be 2 or 3 days a week. The rest of the week is free.

In general, our family philosophy is that every member contributes as they can. For instance kids are asked to help cleaning up their bedrooms, preparing the table for the meals, putting their dirty clothing in the baskets, accordingly to their age and ability. We don't ask any specific house work to the au-pair, just to contribute to the family routine as the other members.
