Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au Pair,

We are a family of five living in a suburb of Cologne and are looking for an Au Pair to support us in our everyday lives.

Dad Michael (42, engineer) and mom Tian (42, economist) both work full-time. Patricia (8) attends primary school. Annabelle (4) and Claire (1) go to kindergarten. We are a bilingual family (German/Chinese). We like to read and play together, and we also like to go for walks in the nearby park. The children like to paint and do crafts, cook and bake with mom, play in the garden and swim with dad.

We live in a nice neighborhood in the small town of Hürth, just a few kilometers from the metropolis of Cologne. Shopping center, bus and subway stations and restaurants are within walking distance. The school and kindergarten that our children attend are also very close.

We have prepared a room for our future Au Pair. It is a quiet, bright and sunny room in the attic of our house, with a window facing south. The other room on this floor is our office. So in the evenings and on weekends you can basically enjoy the whole floor to yourself. You can see details in the photos. We currently have 2.5 bathrooms in the house that we share. There are plans to have another bathroom in the future.

Your tasks include:
- preparing the children for school and kindergarten in the morning;
- picking up the children in the afternoon and playing with them until dinner;
- preparing the children for bed after dinner;
- tidying up the children's room and play areas together with the children;
- helping with household chores such as folding laundry, vacuuming, etc.

You usually help us from Monday to Friday and can take the weekends off. We would be very happy to have your further support if we adults want to go out in the evenings or on weekends (babysitting).
