It would be great if you are already experienced with childhood development or if you are open to learn different ways of educating children.

During your stay with us I would support you with taking German classes - or even English classes if you prefer to learn English over German. It would be great though, if you speak your native language with the kids - whether it is English or Italian. They already have the conversational basics of both languages.

Regarding the day to day work, you would play with the kids, go on excursions, tidy up with them, help them get ready for bed and on three or four evenings a week you would put them to sleep. Right now this includes reading a bedtime story, inventing a kid’s meditation or singing a lullaby but this might change over time since they are getting older.

We do have a cleaning lady, so household chores would rather be the everyday things like tidying and cleaning up after playing or using something - ideally involving the kids in it as well, so they learn from an early age on, using the dishwasher or lending me a hand with laundry. Of course, I will make sure that you know everything you need to move freely and independently in the house.

On the weekends we usually go on trips together, we go swim, to an animal park, the forest or simply play together in and outside the house. It would be lovely if you would join us sometimes and every now and then take over one the two days in case I have to work.

Since we have already had au pairs before, I know how hard it can be on the kids to „ lose their loved one“ and I very much wish for the kids to have somebody in our lives who may ideally stay for longer than just a few months. Maybe with another programm after the au pair year is over by doing school in Germany and still living with us or something like that (if you like it here of course). This is no criteria, and I know it is very unlikely but I thought why not throw this wish out there and see if it can come true. And of course, this is only a wish into universe. ;)

You ewuld have 1-2 days off during the week to go explore the city or relax at home. Two weeks to go travel by yourself if you wish. And I am quite fllexible if you have any plans on going out or travelling that are out of the usual.

We love going on trips and would be happy and excited to take you along and experience all that together with you! Last year‘s trips for example were to Naples, Italy, and to the beach in Agropoli as well as Fehmarn, a German island, and Fanø, a beautiful island in Denmark.

It is very important to me that you to feel free and comfortable with us. So I invite you to always speak your mind, share your thoughts and let me know what you like and what you may have difficulties with. I would be happy to help you or adjust anything that needs to be adjusted to make you feel at home! I am very easy to talk to, open-minded and well travelled and there is literally nothing you cannot come to me with. I am the mother of the family but also a friend, team mate and listener and I consider our relationship just as important as the one with the kids. ❤️
