Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

___We are urgently looking for an Aupair who could start asap as our candidate was denied her Visa, unfortunately. Please write to us only if no Visa is required for you (European applicants) or if you wanna change families and are already in Germany. Please note that advanced English skills (C1 Level) is mandatory (or German) as well as a valid drivers licence and driving experience as car driving on a daily basis is a necessity for this job.____

We are a young, modern family from the beautiful city of Hamburg/Germany and are looking for someone to support our little family in managing their daily life. Our family is York (46), Catarina (42) and Jonathan (9). York and I both work full-time in demanding jobs and Jonathan goes to primary school (4th year). Our family time is limited and therefore all the more valuable to us. Therefore, we are looking for someone to help us better balance work and family by supporting us with our household routines as well as in organizing Jonathan's days after school. For this, our little family is looking for an au pair with a driving license and driving experience (mandatory!) who is warm-hearted, open-minded and trustworthy and who enjoys romping around with our football-loving 9-year-old sports child. At the same time, enjoys working and living quite independently in our home. Although we live outside in a quiet, beautiful area, it is only a 25-minute drive to Hamburg city center. For your convenience, we provide you with a car that you can also use privately outside of your working hours during your stay with us. We have already had 3 au pairs (one from Honduras for 11 months, one from Italy for 6 months and our last one from Zimbabwe for 1 year). It was a lovely experience that we want to continue. Job Description

Since York and I both work partly from home and Jonathan also has his hobbies and friends, the working hours for you may vary. However, we generally work 30 hours a week, 6 hours a day (Monday to Friday) from around 1pm-7pm with a 50:50 mix of household and childcare duties. It is extremely important for us to find someone who can really help us with both as we have a big house and need help with that too. We see the following tasks as a balanced part of our everyday work life: grocery shopping, helping with housecleaning, doing laundry, picking Jonathan up from school, driving him to his hobbies and friends or playing/going somewhere with him as an activity.

Accommodation

We live just outside the busy city center in a beautiful suburb surrounded by lakes and rivers, so in our free time we love paddling our SUPs or a canoe along the beautiful Gose and Dove river and vast nature reserves that we have direct view and access to in our spacious garden. Our house is a very large and modern country house with four levels - the lower level is a special guest level where you can enjoy your own private and cozy bedroom as well as a spacious living room that also serves as a guest room and a modernized bathroom. There is a second guest room on the guest level and whenever guests like our parents or friends stay there you will share the bathroom (shower and separate bathtub) and living room. The rest of the time, the 90 square meter lower floor of the house is yours. In addition, the area has its own entrance, which offers maximum privacy and independence. In your bedroom of approx. 20 square meters, you have a TV, a sofa bed (extendable to a 160 cm wide double bed for two people), a desk, a closet and a small table with chair at your disposal. Thanks to the sofa bed, desk and TV, the room serves as both a bedroom and a living room or office. When there are no visitors, the guest room next to it (which serves as a living room) is also available for you to use as well. Of course, there is fast internet throughout the house and in our huge garden. We have a property right on the water, so you can start your boat trips or morning swims directly from our house :)
