Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a small multinational family living in Hamburg. With our roots in Nigeria, we have lived in Denmark (Mom) and Germany (Dad) since we were young. At home we speak 3 languages: Danish (Mom+kids), English (everyone) and German (everyone). With both mom and dad working full time, we are looking for an au pair who can help us keep our household organised and especially to support us with caring for our two children: Sia (4 years old) and Kion (10 months old). This is the first time we will be welcoming an Au Pair to live with us. We have a house with a garden with enough space for us all. We will offer you the bedroom with a view to the garden.

Who is perfect candidate:
- experienced working with little children
- speaks Danish and English fluently
- non-smoker
- doesn't mind doing light household chores and cooking

Job Description

Daily routine: 8:30-9:00am drop kids at kindergarten (5 mins walk from our house). Pick kids up between 2 and 3pm and bring them home, feed them, wash them, and spend some time playing games. 6pm prepare dinner. 7:30pm prepare for bed. Mummy and daddy are usually done with work at 6:30pm. Au Pair is expected to work 30 hrs per week, spread over Monday - Friday, and a couple of hours during the weekend. We will pay the standard 280Eur pocket money, and compensate for extra hours (if needed) at an hourly wage.
We will also cover the costs for an insurance for the Au Pair. We will work out the details and flexibility in the working schedule together, so that you will have time for your own activities.

Accommodation

We live in a 2-story house with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We have a nice and quiet garden towards the back. The house is on a quiet street, only about a 10-15min walk to the train station with great connections to Hamburg city center (reached in 20mins).

We live within walking distance (10-15min) of the lovely Hamburger Volkspark, also home to the HSV stadium (for football lovers) and the Volkspark Arena (for concert lovers).

The Au Pair will be offered the bedroom, with a direct view of the garden.
