Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au Pair,

We are a family in Hangzhou, China. My name is Hailun, the mother of host family.

My husband and I have two children. My son-Kaifan is 5 years old and my daughter-Kaixin is 3 and half years old.

The kids attends kindergarden from 8am to 4pm. My husband and I are both very busy on the weekdays, so we try to spend as much as time as possible with kids during the weekend, we normally would arrange some activities such as fishing, fruit picking, museum and hiking. Hangzhou is the most popular tourist destination in China with beautiful natural scenery, so we like to have outdoor activities when the weather permits.

My husband and I both went to the United States for college. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University and I graduated from Boston College. We spent five years in the States and enjoyed our study-abroad experience very much. We believe hosting an au pair could help my kids learn foreign culture and improve their English. In the mean time, we would love to help au pair explore Chinese culture, learn Chinese as well as the local lifestyle.

We have a live-in nanny who is responsible for cleaning, cooking and other household chores, so hosting an aupair is more like a cultural exchange thing at our home. We expect the aupair to be kids' big sister, keep them company and create an English enviroment for the kids.

Welcome to China and welcome to our family.
