Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello!

We are a young working family in need of a little extra help around our house. We will be welcoming our firstborn daughter in June 2025, and have a family with five cats. Our cats are pretty independent - and will only really need to be fed or watered every once in a while (we are pretty good at handling these little prowlers).

Our newborne will need care while we are at work, 8am -5pm Monday through Friday. On weekends we will want to be with our child as much as we can! We intend to upbring our daughter with Montessori principles, and look to provide a screen free upbringing focusing on activities that encourage social, emotional, and mental growth.

We live 10 minutes from the closest village and about 25 minutes from the closest town. In our town there is a university, a college and a library that all offer language courses. In addition to language learning options, there are gyms, pools, art galleries, parks, restaurants, medical care and shopping. A trip to the city will take you an hour, this is where our airports are, as well as any shopping malls.

We want to encourage our Au Paire to explore the beautiful countryside and hidden gems within Kentucky in addition to foreign langauge pursuits - we are happy to work with our Au Pair with off time and transportation.

Job Description

Our Au Pair must be experienced with newbornes, and we would prefer a candidate who enjoys art and music as a hobby of their own. We are upbringing our daughter with a Montessori methodology - so experience with this would be preferred.

Our newborne will need care while we are at work, 8am -5pm Monday through Friday. We would feed our daughter in the morning, and the au pair would need to do intermittant feeding until we get home from work. Our baby is learning everyday - so we do want an active Au Pair that can be available to facilitate tummy time and newborne development activities during waking hours. We intend to upbring our daughter with Montessori principles, and look to provide a screen free upbringing focusing on activities that encourage social, emotional, and mental growth.

On weekends, we will want to be with our child as much as we can! Therefore, we would plan in advance with our Au Pair would need to work weekends (you can count on having these off)

Accommodation

The Au Paire at this time would be provided with an Electrified Yurt located adjacent to the main house with a Queen size bed, sitting room, Air Conditioning // Heat, Wi-Fi, electrical outlets. This is its own seperate structure adjacent to our house, for the private and exlusive use of our Au Paire. Unfortunately our Yurt does not have its own plumbing, so all bathroom needs are accessed within the shared family home.

We are currently in the process of procuring a manufactured home that will its own stand alone house for the Au-Pairs use. This home will not be procured and integrated until the beginning of 2026. At that time the Au Pair would have access to their own private restroom.
