Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are Simon, Malissa and our son Lad, and we are flower farmers. The home and farm we rent is on a beautiful property in Hemmingford Quebec, Canada.

We are looking to share a cultural exchange with a young person this spring summer and fall. Hemmingford is about an hour south of Montreal. We sell our flowers in the city so there will be opportunities to explore the city, as well as our beautiful countryside.

Job Description

As farmers, at least one of us will often be on the farm during the workday. Our days start at 7am so from then untill the end of the day, the au pair will be looking after Lad, talking him for walks, playing with him, feeding him and so on. Lunches are always prepared by the farm team, (us and two employees) so they will always be fresh and delicious. We usually all cook supper together as well. Most important to us is finding someone with good vibes who can easily fit in to our positive easygoing family dynamic. We love to watch movies and go for swims after work, and explore the land around us together. Our ideal candidate is a considerate, kind young person with a good sense of humour who wants to improve their English by living on a picturesque flower farm for the summer, looking after a wonderful baby boy, and becoming a part of our family and community.

Accommodation

The candidate will have their own medium/large room. Wifi is strong, we have two bathrooms in the home, there’s a wonderful kitchen that the au pair can use readily anytime, there’s a great tv for watching movie together, there’s a lot of outdoor space, (farm is 150 acres) there’s a river near by to swim in, the house is a beautiful stone home, that we keep clean and with retro decor.
