Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi there,

Dear Au-pair,

We are looking forward to meeting you and would be very happy if you are interested in becoming a part of our family.
We are Pia (36) and Niels (44) with our two boys Leonard (almost 5) and Raphael (2) and not to forget our dog Labrador Milo. We live in a big house with a garden and of course you will have your own room.
We live in Hennef, a suburb of Bonn which has everything you need for daily life. For everything else you can be in Bonn or Cologne in 20 minutes, also by bus or train. Frankfurt is also only about an hour's drive away.

We are looking for a very nice and kind person who wants to be more than an Au Pair but a family member to us.
Besides the fact that you will take care of our boys, the most important thing in our lifes, we are happy to live the cultural exchange.

Sunny greetings

Job Description

The childcare is clearly in focus, pick up from kindergarten, play, go to the playground, make dinner for the boys and also now and then bring to bed.
But also smaller things in the household should be natural for you, keep your room and bathroom clean, put away the washed clothes of the boys, tidying up the children's room, vacuum cleaning or taking out the garbage. This means experinece in household chores is a must.
en.
To the Kindergarten you can go with the bike, if you have good driving experience you could also use on of our cars.
Your day starts with helping to get the boys ready and sometimes take them to Kindergarden.
Then you have time to do language school or whatever you like to do. From time to time when we are both the whole day on the field it would be helpful that you walk the dog.
At around 3.30pm you will pick up the boys and do activities with them. At around 6pm we will have dinner together and after that we all tidy up. Usually we bring the boys to bed.
From time to time cooking dinner and bringing the boys to bed will be required.

At home we only speak German, but Niels and I also speak good English. So you get the chance to learn german but there are no communication problems.

What we expect is a good educational background, a sense of responsibility and an excellent native speaker's command of the English language. A happy outgoing personality that inspires kids is essential. You should be able to take the initiative and not wait for us to tell you everything that needs to be done in detail.

Full Covid vaccination required to au pair with us.

Accommodation

We live in a pretty large house with a garden.
Of course you have your own room with closet, chest of drawers, desk and either bed or sofa bed, whichever you prefer. The bathroom you have either alone or share it with the boys (we are still thinking about the room layout). Wifi, Netflix etc. you can use of course.
The Kindergarten, where the boys go to is about 5 minutes by car or 10 till 15 minutes by bike.

We live in Hennef, a suburb of Bonn which has everything you need for daily life. For everything else you can be in Bonn or Cologne in ten minutes, also by bus or train. Frankfurt is also only about an hour's drive away.
Here you have a lot of culture of the roman time, a lot of castles and so much more but on the other hand there are a lot of activities which can be done here, especially hiking or climbing and so much more.
The Cologne/Bonn (rhineland) area is also very well connected within Europe. Cologne main station is a railway hub in Germany, with many quick connections to places like Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Berlin, Luxembourg, and even London. Just 15 Minutes away is the airport Cologne/Bonn which gives you the chance to short trips to destinations all over Europe.
