Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are Jürgen, Karin and Jolly our dachsdog - a retired couple, living in a nice little village close to Hennef in the Cologne/Bonn region in Germany.

Jürgen has a Parkinson decease, cannot walk easily and needs to be assisted a lot. Myself Karin, even though I am also not that young anymore, am able to manage most tasks, but would like to be helped a bit.

During the week, Jürgen has to attend several physical training activities where he is taken by transportation services like aquagym or walking training with a Lokomat in the Reha center of Hennef. He has an electric wheel chair and likes to make some trips accompanied by our dog. We live in a very nice place on a hill and there are also plenty of horses.

A language course also is held in Hennef at the VHS where candidates could learn German, which for sure is usefull. We are close to Bonn and Cologne and have good connections by train. The Rhine valley lies in front of the door and also dancing school is here and a famous sportschule. Lots of activities to share with if you are interested.

We would appreciate to have a sympathic young person with us to share our life for a while.

Job Description

I have a cleaning woman once a week and I do mostly the washing etc... I do the cooking, but to help to put the dishes in the dish washer or something alike is appreciated. We need a person who is present, when I am out or also to accompany us to the doctors with a wheel chair - therefore it will be useful to have driving licences in any case.

As we live not too far away from Holland/Belgium, it would be easier to take the chance of evading with the assistance of a young person to make short vacation trip just for an example.

To notice, in the village is a horse farm and on the meadows are retired horses and others.
