Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are excited that you are considering our family for your au pair experience. To help you decide whether we are the right family for you, we would like to provide you a few details about us. We are a married couple with two young children living in the Bay Area of California close to San Francisco. We own a lovely 4-bedroom single family home on a large lot and have a extra bed room for the au pair. My wife and I are both PhD scientists working. My wife works a director in pharmaceuticals and I work as a lead in plant genetics. We have a car that the au pair can use and we have a bus stop literally on the corner of our lot as well as readily available Uber/Lyft rides in the area to provide transportation as needed. There are plenty of opportunities in the bay area and University of California school system for classes.

Job Description

We are looking for loving and experienced an au pair that can take care of our youngest child during the day, and or evening for both 2.5 and 7 years old at flexible Scheduale. We would like the au pair to be loving and patient, and bond with the children. We also want the au pair to be hands on and provide structured activities to help the children be engaged and develop. There will also be some light house duties, mostly to clean up after the children. This will involved 40-45 hours of work per week. And of course as a requisite part of the program, we expect and will ensure the ability of the au pair to attend classes. Our house is a large two story house with 5 rooms, and a very large yard where nanny and the kid can play in during the day.

Accommodation

The au pair will have a bedroom and bathroom to themselves on the second floor of our home. They will have the our high speed Wi-Fi network available to them. Of course all basic utilities are provided by us. We will provide food and all basic essentials around the home. The au pair will be able to use one of our cars for transportation. We also have a bus stop on the corner of our property and rideshares available on demand if the au pair needs to anywhere. We will cover all transportation expenses associated with child care and education.
