Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello, we are the Ewarts! It's just Charlie and I these days, so we're looking for some help with childcare for the hours that I work. We live about 45 minutes outside of Washington D.C. in a suburban area. It's only a 10 minute drive to the metro station that can take you all over the city. Tyson's Corner is also close by which offers plenty of shops, restaurants and night life.

Job Description

We are looking for an Au Pair with a flexible schedule. I work mornings for 2 weeks at a time then nights for the next 2 weeks. So about half the time I will be around in the morning/ early afternoon to help with Charlie. We can take turns going to the gym those mornings (if that's your thing). You would need to put him to bed for those 2 weeks as well.

When I work mornings, you would need to wake up with Charlie (around 7-8am) and care for him until I return home (4-5pm). We really value education and interaction and try to keep him off screens as much as possible. Of course, that's not to say he can't watch some educational content a couple hours a day - we just don't want him in front of the TV constantly.

I know my schedule can seem a bit confusing and hectic. But once you settle in and get used to things, it will seem much less so, I promise!

Accommodation

You will have your own private room and a connecting bathroom right across the hall from Charlie's room. We only use your bathroom for Charlie's baths, so otherwise it would be 100% yours. WiFi access is readily available, as are any snacks/ meals you would want or need throughout the day. We can work out a meal plan/ budget so that the pantry is stocked with whatever you like to eat. We love trying new food too; if you would like to share some popular dishes from your home country, it would be very welcome!

You'll have full access to the washer and dryer whenever you need it and I can give you lifts to the metro when needed. We don't have any bikes yet, but I plan on picking up a couple this Spring. You'd also have access to any of our streaming services of course (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) I'm not sure what else to include here so if you have any questions please just ask!
