Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi there! We are expecting our first child on December 19th 2024 and wanted to find an au pair for him starting in mid-March, 2025. We live in the suburbs south of Denver, Colorado.

The neighborhood we live in has tons of walking/biking trails, and 4 recreation centers that have full gyms that you would have access to! The closest recreation center is 0.5 miles from our house, and has an indoor lap pool and an outdoor pool as well. There are also tennis courts walking distance from our house that we love to play tennis at.

Outside of our neighborhood, there are tons of state parks, and we live 1.5 hour drive from Rocky Mountain National Park. We are also a 1.5 hour drive from most of the major ski resorts (like Keystone, Breckenridge, etc) and mountains. You can also take a train into downtown Denver which takes 1 hour, or it is 30 min by car (depending on traffic). There are so many outdoor activities to do here, and we would hope that our au pair would spend her weekends exploring the area!

Job Description

We would be looking for an au pair to watch our son 4-5 days per week while we work (I work from home, and my husband works in the office), and help with household chores (laundry/tidying/vaccuming/helping with dinner etc). We would expect 35-45 hours of work per week, Monday-Friday.

Accommodation

Our house has three levels:

1. Basement: This would be your space, with a queen bed, couch, TV, and a living/bedroom area.
2. Main Floor: Where the kitchen, living room, and a half bathroom are located. Our garage is also on this floor, and we have a home gym set up in the garage which you are welcome to use (I am always looking for a workout buddy if you'd like to workout with me!).
3. Upstairs: Includes my office, our bedroom and bathroom, the nursery, a spare bedroom, and a guest bathroom.

The guest bathroom upstairs would mostly be yours. The only exceptions would be if we have guests staying with us or when we use the tub for bathtime (our bathroom only has a shower). You can also of course use the half bathroom on the main floor whenever you need! There is storage in both the half bath on the main floor and in the upstairs bathroom, so you can store your toiletries in whichever bathroom is more convenient for you.
