Homestead is a vibrant and welcoming community located about 35 miles south of the bustling city center of Miami. While we’re just a short drive away from the energy and excitement of Miami’s beaches, cultural hotspots, and nightlife, our town offers a quieter, family-friendly atmosphere surrounded by natural beauty, including the Everglades and Biscayne National Parks.

Job Description

As you prepare to join our family, we’d like to outline some expectations and responsibilities to ensure we have a clear and positive understanding of your role. Please know that we see this as a partnership and are here to support you every step of the way.

Childcare Responsibilities
Your primary role will be to assist us in caring for the children. This includes:

Helping with morning routines, such as getting the children ready for school or activities.
Supervising playtime and engaging the children in fun, educational, and creative activities.
Assisting with homework or school projects as needed.
Managing bedtime routines, such as bathing, reading stories, and ensuring they go to bed on time.
Ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times, both at home and during outings.
Helping with transportation to and from school, activities, or playdates when necessary.
Household Responsibilities
While your main focus is childcare, we also ask for assistance with light household tasks to maintain a clean and organized environment. These may include:

Keeping the children’s areas clean and tidy (e.g., bedrooms, playrooms, and study areas).
Helping with children’s laundry, including washing, folding, and putting clothes away.
Assisting with meal preparation and cleanup for the children, such as packing lunches or preparing snacks.
Contributing to light housework, such as loading/unloading the dishwasher, sweeping, or tidying up shared spaces.
Cooking Responsibilities
We’d appreciate your help with cooking on a regular basis, which may include:

Preparing simple, healthy meals for the children.
Occasionally cooking for the entire family, focusing on nutritious and balanced dishes.
Assisting with meal prep tasks, such as chopping vegetables, setting the table, or cleaning up afterward.
Schedule and Flexibility
We aim to create a consistent schedule, but flexibility is essential in family life. We will provide a detailed weekly schedule so you know what to expect, but occasional adjustments may be needed for special circumstances or family events.

Time Off and Personal Time
We want you to enjoy your time here and explore the area! You’ll have designated days off each week and personal time to relax, pursue hobbies, or explore Miami and Homestead.

What We Provide
In return for your support, we will provide:

A private room and all meals.
Pocket money as agreed upon.
Access to transportation for personal use within reason.
A warm, supportive environment where you are part of the family.
