Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

My daughter is six years old (almost seven), and when she was 2-4 years old, we had au pairs who taught her Russian. Now that they are gone, my daughter forgot Russian (our former au pairs are now extended members of our family, but they live far away). I would like my daughter to remember Russian and speak it fluently. In fact, this is the primary reason why we would like an au pair again (so speaking Russian would be required, but you would have lots of free time and other duties are very light).

Our family lives in a town that is located about 20 minutes' drive to different cities all around, and 1.5 hours to New York City. The person who lives with us will have a car and can drive to these closer cities or to the train station that takes you to New York City. There are also schools nearby (20-30 minutes away), where you can take English language or other subjects of interest.

Job Description

The person who joins us would have to be willing to speak Russian 90 percent of the time to my daughter. She would read Russian to her, help her with poetry, and writing in Russian, and help her with homework (in English) after school. I like to minimize time on the screen (like t.v. and cell phone use), but watching t.v. shows in Russian and radio in Russian would be good.

The au pair would have to be independent and would need to drive in order to transport my child and go to grandparents' house, etc. (We have also found that the car is helpful for the au pair to drive where she needs and wants to go.) We regularly help out my dad who sometimes falls down and needs to go to the doctor (especially when my mom is traveling). Light cleaning and cooking may be expected sometimes too.
