Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We live in Houston, Texas. Texas is the very large state at the bottom of the United States just north of Mexico. Houston is one of the largest cities in America so there is a TON to do (parks, museums, restaurants, etc.) and we love how diverse it is with people from all over the world living here. However, it still feels like a small town because everyone is SO FRIENDLY and it is very easy to meet new friends. It is very hot and humid, especially in the summer but that doesn’t bother us! It just means more days playing outside and if it’s too hot, we just make a trip to the many pools near us or the sprinkler in the backyard!

We hope to make this a true cultural exchange. We would love our children (and us!) to learn about the country you are from: the people, the food, the history, and language. James and I have traveled quite a bit so we feel that it is important for our children to learn about the world and the people who live there. We would also love to be your ambassadors to the United States and show you as much as we possibly can about life here.

Job Description

I work at Texas Children’s Hospital teaching nurses part-time 2.5 days a week. Typically you will work during the day helping with teaching the kids with me and I will work in the evenings. If the kids go back to school this year, you will help me drop them off/pick them up and play with them after school. I would say it's 8am-5:30pm M-Th and friday a bit shorter. This can vary dramatically depending on COVID
