Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi we are a family of three girls and live in an amazing street in Howick Auckland. We are looking for an AuPair to start in August as our current AuPair’s visa is expiring and she is returning back to her home country.

The last year has been life altering for us as we lost my husband to a brain tumour after 4 years of battling this disease. We are a resilient, fun loving bunch and have chosen to continue to live life to the fullest as we know what an amazing gift this life is.

Our new home which is recently renovated, is very close to Cyra's school (my oldest daughter, 7 years old) (5 min walk) and within 1 min walking distance to bus stops that takes you to a mall, a village and ferry terminal's that can take you to the city or Waiheke Island (amazing vineyards and beaches).

We live in a safe neighbourhood and have lovely neighbours and a private walk way to the beach. We are an active part of a church group that meet at home for home fellowships and enjoy the outdoors but also quality time at home with each other.

We don’t watch a lot of TV (the kids spend maybe an hour a week watching approved TV shows) and we eat mostly organic meats and veggies. My two girls are kind hearted, fun loving and easy going kids. They know how to obey (most of the time) are not picky eaters and are fun to be around.

We have had two AuPairs (one from Germany and one from USA) live with us over the last three years and they have throughly enjoyed their experiences and will always be apart of our family. We are now looking for the third AuPair to be apart of our next chapter.

Job Description

I need you to have a full drivers license and feel confident to drive my two girls around. I will provide at my own cost driving lessons to ensure you understand the New Zealand road rules.

Apart from the driving which includes taking the kids to and from their activities, I need someone who can help me run the house and take care of the kids. All of these are shared duties and include but are not limited to : Meal planning, cooking, general cleaning, playing with the kids, doing homework, hanging out together as a family, and doing outdoor trips e.g. zoo etc.

The kind of person that works for us, is someone that is easy going, wants to be a part of the family and hang out with us outside of the working hours, enjoys cooking and eating healthy foods, likes a clean and orderly house, enjoys a routine but can also handle ambiguity.

We are serious about filling this role asap, so please only reach out if you are serious about living and working in Auckland, New Zealand.

Accommodation

You will have your own room with a study desk and closet, and access to a bathroom that you will predominantly use on your own. Incase we have some friends staying over, then you will share that bathroom.

Your bedroom is on the ground level overlooking the lawn and water views. There is another spare bedroom downstairs with an informal living which I use to work from home during the day.

Upstairs is the master bedroom with its own bathroom toilet and another bedroom that the girls share. They will use the master bedroom bathroom to get ready in the morning and after school, which is why most often you will access to your own bathroom downstairs.

On the second level is also the kitchen, living and dinning room which flows unto a deck.

The house is newly renovated and is warm, modern, minimalists and cosy.
