Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello! My name is Fernanda—I’m an only child, married to an American, and we have a little fur baby. Soon, my mom will be joining us! She’s 75, retired from the Bank of Brazil, and in the intermediate stage of Alzheimer’s. She’s still able to do many things on her own, but she needs a companion—someone to keep an eye on her, prepare a coffee, serve her some food, and maybe even go shopping with her—especially since my husband and I work during the day.
We live in Hutto, just outside Austin—it’s a charming little town! There’s a great language school nearby that could be helpful. While there’s no bus station, we’re fully committed to supporting you in reaching your goals here in the U.S.
If you drive, we’d be happy to help you gain more independence during your free hours. Let us know how we can support you!

Job Description

We’re looking for someone to be great company for my mom and keep an eye on her when we’re at work or out. We also love to travel, and you’d absolutely be welcome to join us!
You don’t need to cook, but if possible, just helping with her meals—like setting things up for her or even making something simple, like an egg—would be great. Our goal is for you to be her companion, her best friend.
She takes care of bathroom needs on her own, but sometimes she needs a little reminder that it’s time for a bath. Walking and exercise are important too, so helping her stay active would be a huge help.
