Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a warm, caring, and energetic nanny to join our family and provide exceptional care for our curious and active toddler, Brano. This position offers a wonderful opportunity to become a cherished member of our household while enjoying a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Morning Routine**: Help get Brano ready for school around 9 AM, including dressing, breakfast, and ensuring he has everything he needs for the day.
- **School Pickup**: Pick Brano up from school at 4 PM and provide a nurturing environment during the transition home.
- **Daily Activities**: Engage in playtime, reading stories, and fostering creativity through age-appropriate activities. Encourage Brano’s curiosity and development through interactive play.
- **Feeding**: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for Brano, ensuring he has a balanced diet. He eats prepackaged meals but we are transitioning his diet now that he is getting bigger.
- **Bathing and Hygiene**: Assist with bathing and establish routines for personal hygiene, making it a fun and enjoyable experience.
- **Light Housekeeping**: Help maintain a clean and organized environment, including tidying up play areas and common spaces.
- **Laundry**: Manage laundry for Brano, including washing and folding his clothes. House is equipped with washer and dryer.
- **Pet Care**: Occasionally take our small dog, Wasco, for short walks and ensure he is comfortable and cared for.
- **Cooking**: While we love to cook, your culinary skills would be a wonderful addition! Help prepare family meals when needed.
- **Downtime**: Utilize the time when Brano is in school for personal downtime, planning, or light household tasks. Days off are guaranteed.
- **Travel**: Accompany our family on trips, both domestic and international, sharing in our adventures and experiences.

**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience as a nanny or childcare provider is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a nurturing demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a family team.
- A love for cooking and willingness to help with meal prep.
- Comfortable with light housekeeping and laundry duties.
- Must be pet-friendly and open to occasional dog walking.
- Knowing how to drive with and international driver license is a plus but is not a must. We will drive you around.

You will have your own private bedroom and bathroom, providing you with a personal space to unwind and relax. The room includes a TV for your enjoyment, and you’ll have access to the entire house, making it easy to feel at home.

**Amenities**:
Stay connected with free WiFi throughout the house. We also provide a US-based cellphone for you to use during your time with us. Additionally, we are happy to offer healthcare insurance to ensure your well-being while you’re part of our family.

**Around town**
We can drive you around and get you to your destination during your down time. There's also free public bus within Iowa City. The shopping mall is 15 minutes away.
