Work abroad in Anja's family for 10-12 Months starting from Aug 2025 as an Au Pair to take care of 3 children of 0 - 1 year old & 1 - 5 years old in Iserlohn, North Rhine-Westphalia Germany

Dear future au-pair,

welcome to Germany! We are a family of five with a dog and we live in a beautiful area called Sauerland – that means midsize cities and forest hills. We live in the city center, so cafés, restaurants, shops, the cinema, library, bakeries, … are just outside the front door. Nevertheless, we have a big flat with a terrace and a garden for ourselves and the forest is only a 15 minute walk away.

We – that is your host "parents" Anja (33) and René (36), the host children Jamie (born 2020) and Kieran (born 2022), Kayleigh (born 2024) and our fluffy dog Sashi. Anja is a stay-at-home mum but she has graduated in film directing and completed an apprenticeship to become a media designer for images and sound at a local tv station. René works as a nursery nurse at a daycare facility for children and will be at work five days a week. Jamie and Kieran are pre-schoolers, Kayleigh is still at home all the time, but there is a play group she attends once every week. Sashi is a Japanese Akita Inu, but he has longer fur than the breed usually has. He likes to relax and sleep but is rather exuberant when meeting people or other dogs. Sometimes he likes to play-fight but he enjoys to cuddle, too.

In the afternoons we like to play with the children and the dog. When the weather is nice we like to go outside or spend time in the garden or on the terrace. The boys like to play in the sandbox or in the inflatable pool. 3-4 times a week in the late afternoon/evening Anja or René will attend their hobby classes. René plays taiko (Japanese drums) every Wednesday and Anja has dance classes every Monday and Thursday (sometimes also Tuesday). Some Thursday evenings will be parents' evening at the daycare facility in which Jamie is. In the evenings when the boys are asleep we like to be creative or read a book, play board games, listen to music or watch a film. On weekends we try and find nice nature spots to go for walks, attend any event in the city centre, preferably with live music or dance performances, go on day trips every now and then or just spend a lazy day at home. We would like to share all that with you and learn about your hobbies. We also love to meet with friends and family.
