Welcome Letter to the Au Pair
Hello! I'm Elina from Sweden, the host Mom. I speak only English and Swedish, but my English is very good. We have a smart, sweet, funny and beautiful baby girl of recently turned 1 years old in February 2025 <3 Easy to fall in love with :D
We also need help with our new baby that is coming in the end of July. Since I'm almost 7 months pregnant now:)
We need an Au Pair who is European or have a residence permit in Europe!
Me and my husband need a LIVE-IN Au Pair who can take care of our baby OR the new baby 3 NIGHTS a week Plus 3 DAYS a week during the DAYTIME or evening if I go to work. Normally between 4-7 hours depending on our need that day.
Stella is a normal and happy baby and relatively easy to take care of. Althogh she requires constant supervison, care and affection just like any other baby. She has a lot of energy, always playing and she is already WALKING! But not talking yet.
Stella have her own room in the house 3m x 3m.
Where she will sleep in the day or night and also play in this room or in some parts of the house that is BABY SAFE. Stella normally takes 1 nap a day during lunchtime around 2 hours. And in the night she sleeps 11-12 hours. Bedtime normally 20.00. Stellas room have a dubble mattress on the floor so that there can be no accident falling from the bed.
You will have your own private bedroom in our house. But you will sleep in Stellas room the nights you sleep with Stella.
You will live here in our house for free of course, with your own room, and eat for free like any other Au Pair. And get paid every week. Total will be around 800 euro per month. If you help more or we need more help we can of course pay more.
We will buy from the grocery the food that you like. Or other things that you need. We have big budget for food so don’t worry about asking for the things you want to eat. We eat most things normal diet. But we try to eat relatively healty.
We will also pay for your expenses if we do activities or small holidays together as a family.
We need an Au Pair who can fall asleep Easily at night so that when you wake up in the night because of the baby cry or to give her the Bottle, put her on your arm or change her diaper, you can fall asleep again easily.
If you have sleeping problems maybe this job will be difficult for you.
Stella normally wake up 2-3 times a night because she have bad Dreams or she is hungry or she don't want to be alone so she is looking for affection or to check if anybody is in the room. So sometimes you just need to put Stella on your arm for 5 min after she sleep again and you can remove your arm and go back to sleep. Or sometimes she will sleep again after drinking some milk from the Bottle. Normally she falls asleep fast again after walking up. Only occasionally it takes more time and effort.
Bottle and milk will be close to you in the room where you sleep with Stella so you don't need to make to much effort to feed her in the night. You can stay in bed.
Sometimes her diaper needs to be changed 1 time during the night if it is too heavy. Or sometimes not nessesary.
So the ideal person would be someone who can fall asleep easily again after waking up.
Because this is the only issue with taking care of her at night...
And also it would be prefered to have an Au Pair who likes to sleep earlier in the evening. So that you can put Stella for sleep in the room around 8 pm/20.00 and either stay with her in the room or leave her there in the room after Stella falls asleep,
And after you go back and sleep yourself next to Stella at maximum 11 pm or earlier.
If she cries you need to run back to the room fast to comfort her until she sleps again. Your room and the kitchen is close to Stellas room. Also the livingroom is not far.
We also need our Au Pair to take care of Stella sometimes during daytime or evening.
This is if we both need to work at the same day, go do activities where we can not bring her, go to the shops, appointments or do chores at home. 2 or 3 times a week during daytime or evening.
Stella is a relatively calm and easy baby to take care of, but still of course like every other baby she needs sometimes a lot of attention and sometimes cries.
Usally she complains or cry when she is hungry, tired and need sleep, or need more affection of someone carrying her in their arms or playing with her.
We are very flexible for your plans too!
We will arrange our days/schedule so it fits your plans as well as our plans.
My husband works from 7am morning to 4pm afternoon 3-6 days a week. Weekdays and weekends mixed schedule.
And I work 3 days a week normally from 10am/11 lunchtime to 7/9 pm evening. Weekdays and weekends mixed schedule also.
My schedule is flexible so we can decide together what days, evenings or nights you need free or I need to work.
When the new baby comes I will take few weeks of maternityleave staying home.
Sometimes I will work on days my husband is free and he will take care of Stella and some days I might need your help because we both go to work.
So some weeks we need more help in the day and some weeks we need less help because my husband's schedule varies a lot.
You can have 2 days a week free and of course some days during either daytime or evening/night you will be free. Your free days will vary, not always weekends. The schedule will be flexible and decided together each week or the day before. So it will fit you as well as my family.
Otherwise you don't have any other job in our house. We only share household chores in the home like doing the dishes (We have a dishwasher machine) and cooking like any other family. And also laundry.
We have a cleaning Lady come 1 time every week. So you don't need to do this type of General cleaning. Only keep your things organized.
If you like Cats that is a Plus :) But not required.
We have to Munchkin/Persian mix cats that like affection.
So the most important things we look for in an Au Pair is that:
- She can sleep easily like described before
- Like to Sleep early maximum 11 pm
- Always supervise the Stella or sometimes the new baby and think about baby safety so there will be as little accidents as possible
This is the most important thing
- Like to take walks outside with Stella in the baby carrige/stroller
- Care about Stella and give her affection and play with her
- Follow Stellas schedule for food and Sleep
- Give Stella good food and varaity of food made baby safe
- Help occasionally with dishes or cooking or laundry like any other family member
- Is flexible in her schedule in case of changes of plans or different work schedule each week
- And I like a person who is generally happy and smiling person who can be trusted as well and genuinely care about Stella
We want our Au Pair to feel at home and feel like she is part of the family : D
