Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Prospective Au Pair,

We are delighted to extend a warm welcome as we search for an energetic and caring au pair to join our family in Western Australia. We are a Welsh family living in Australia and have two busy boys who will keep you on your toes, but also bring plenty of joy and laughter into your days.

Our family lives in a vibrant mining town that is ideal for families. Everything you need is conveniently located just 10 minutes away, and you'll have access to an airport and train service to Perth for those weekend getaways or adventures. And if you love the beach, you'll be thrilled to know that Esperance, with its stunning coastline, is just a drive away.

The role will involve taking our eldest to kindergarten three times a week, while caring for our youngest full-time. As I am a teacher, there will be times when I have duties after work, such as parent evenings, when I'll need you to watch the boys. This may occasionally extend to one or two evenings a week and a few hours over the weekend.

One of the perks of this position is that you will have most school holidays free, allowing you to explore and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There will be some small duties during these breaks, but overall, this will be a time for you to relax and recharge.

We are looking for someone who is not only reliable and responsible but also enthusiastic about engaging with our children, helping them learn and grow. If you have a love for the outdoors, a spirit of adventure, and a passion for caring for children, you will fit right in with our family.

Job Description

Take the eldest child to kindergarten three times a week.
Care for the youngest child full-time.
Prepare meals and snacks for the children.
Perform general housekeeping duties, including:
Tidying up the children's play areas and rooms.
Washing dishes after meals.
Washing and folding the children's clothes.
Watch the children during my work hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Assist during parent evenings or other after-work duties.
Light duties during school holidays with most time off.
