Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi,
We live in Bijagua, Costa Rica which is a rural area in the north of the country. My wife (Bertha) and I have two young children, Kefen a seven year old boy, and Sophy an 11 year old girl. I am a native English speaker and Bertha is a native Spanish speaker. We would like the children to grow up speaking both English and Spanish very well, so we are looking for someone to be a nanny/au pair and speak English to our children as well as engage them in various activities such as crafts and educational activities. Bijagua is a nice rural town, but English is not commonly spoken here and the local schools do not teach it well.
Our house in Bijagua is in the rainforest, we have quite a bit of nature on our large property with toucans, monkeys, sloths etc, but it is only a 5 minute drive to town and also easily walkable (2Km). We do a lot of traveling within Costa Rica, and also outside the country; so we are looking for someone who travels well, can handle adversity, and is easy going. Our town of Bijagua is very temperate, we are at some altitude in the cloud forest and the combination of our properties here include several rental villas situated on about 40 hectares of natural beauty. But, we are within walking distance of town. It is a unique and magical place - at least for us and our visitors : )

Job Description

We are looking for a live-in helper (we will provide the accommodation that will be private, but next to us) who will spend the days with our children and travel with us. Meals will be provided. Some light cleaning help may be required (not a primary job - we have that help already) and other help around the house/garden may be requested on a as needed basis (again not primary job - we have gardeners also.)
