Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Welcome to our family! We're very excited that you'll be joining us soon and becoming a part of our everyday life. We're already looking forward to getting to know you and sharing many wonderful experiences together.

We'd like to tell you a little bit about us:
We are a family with two children – Adénaïs (4) is very curious and loves to do crafts, and Alessio (10).
We live near Berlin, a quiet area with good connections to the city and many leisure activities.

Your main tasks will be to support us with childcare, such as getting the children ready for school in the morning, picking them up from kindergarten or school, organizing small games or activities, and occasionally helping with dinner or putting them to bed. Smaller household chores like loading and unloading the dishwasher or tidying up are also part of the package – but of course, everything within a fair framework.

What's most important to us is that you feel comfortable with us, that we treat each other openly and respectfully, and that you can also develop personally. We're happy to help you improve your German language skills and introduce you to our culture.

Job Description

Duties, skills, and expectations of our future au pair

We are looking for a warm, reliable, and responsible au pair who will support our family in their daily lives and be a loving companion to our two children.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Getting the children ready for school and kindergarten in the morning
• Accompanying or picking them up from school/kindergarten (as needed)
• Assisting with leisure activities (playing, crafts, going for walks, etc.)
• Light household chores related to the children (e.g., tidying the children's room, folding laundry, preparing small meals)
• Occasional babysitting in the evening

What you should bring with you:
• Enjoy working with children and a caring attitude
• Some experience in childcare is desirable, but not required
• Empathy, patience, and a sense of responsibility
• Basic knowledge of German or the willingness to learn the language
• Openness to our way of life and the willingness to become part of our family

Our au pair will have their own spacious, comfortably furnished room – almost like a small hotel room. It's located in a separate area of our house and offers plenty of privacy and peace and quiet.

The room features:

• plenty of natural light and a pleasant atmosphere

Especially practical: You'll have your own bathroom with a shower and toilet, which is exclusively for you – just like in a hotel room. This way, you can retreat, relax, and enjoy some time to yourself at any time.
