Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Originally translated from Deutsch
Dear AuPair,

We are a happy family of four: My wife Anne (40), our son Matti (3 years), our son Anton (1 year) and me, Matthias (37). We moved from Frankfurt to beautiful Kronberg about three years ago, where we feel very comfortable in our little house. Kronberg is a small town (approx. 20,000 inhabitants) in the Taunus and very worth living in. It's not far to Frankfurt.

Matti is in kindergarten until midday/afternoon, Anton goes to a childminder, but we are hoping for some support from an au pair, especially in the afternoon and evening.

We like to spend our free time in Kronberg and the surrounding area, so we spend a lot of time outside or visiting our families. So you should also like to be active and enjoy exercise. We also enjoy cooking and eating. You should be a happy person, because Matti and Anton laugh a lot and get up to nonsense :). We often listen to music and dance to it, go to the playground with the boys or swim. Since we both work a lot, we need another pair of hands to manage everything.

It would be great if you are interested in getting to know us. Feel free to write a message.

Best regards

Anne and Matthias with Matti and Anton

Job Description

Originally translated from Deutsch
As an AuPair it would be good if you could support us in everyday life. That means
Mainly afternoon/evening:
- household activities in general,
- prepare dinner, clean the kitchen after dinner,
- Preparing meals, loading/unloading the dishwasher
- take out the garbage in the designated bins (make these available for collection if necessary),
- Setting the table (everything we do)
- Keep playrooms/living rooms tidy: vacuum, mop
- Wash and dry children's laundry, fold and put away,
- help with putting them to bed: changing the children's diapers, brushing their teeth, washing them
- Clean and tidy up children's areas and your own areas

- the most important thing: of course play with the CHILDREN! Go to the playground, do crafts, anything the boys enjoy!

If childcare (kindergarten/childminder) is canceled during the day, you will occasionally have to step in in the morning and look after the children in the morning. But this is very rarely the case so far.

It would be particularly helpful if you could help get ready in the evening and/or if necessary look after the second child. Matthias is usually home quite late, so Anne does a lot on her own and with two children at the same time (especially a very small one) that's not always easy.

But we can best discuss everything else directly. We are very easy to get along with and are convinced that it is best to simply discuss the tasks.

You would probably often have free mornings, unless Mattis or Anton's childminder/kindergarten is sick or something similar. Then you have to step in and work in the morning/lunchtime as an exception. Of course, you also have at least one day off on the weekend. In principle you can summarize it like this: You can experience a lot with us, but you also have a lot of time for yourself.
