Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello!. We are Tim, Aida, and Aurora, mixed family, a native-born American husband and a wife originally from Iran, with a newborn baby (April 2024) Aurora. Our love story started in Dubai UAE back in 2020 and after we got married in Tbilisi Georgia in 2022 have been waiting on our spousal visa for the USA ever since. We have found ourselves in Malaysia as we are are waiting for the visa, and unfortunately the process is slow so we likely have another 1-2 years to wait.

Tim (the husband), unfortunately has to work in the USA 50%+ of the time, so Aida is struggling as a young mother. She currently has her mother (Aurora's grandmother) staying with us in Kuala Lumpur to help, but she can't stay all the time and we are hoping that you will be able to help Aida. She wants to be a good friend to you too!

Aida is 24 year old young woman, a new mother. She loves her husband (Tim), music, dancing, travel, learning different languages, and enjoying life together. She would love to be good friends with you!

Aurora is our a beautiful baby girl named for the Disney Princess. She loves being read picture books and is working hard on her baby sign language!

We are also open to speakers of only Spanish as Tim is fluent in Spanish (though Aida is not). We are trying to learn a little French so a French speaker would be open to that as well but we'd have to learn French together.

Job Description

The job of the au pair is mainly to support Aida and Tim, especially Aida when Tim is not able to be in Malaysia due to his job. No specific skill required you will be working with a very bright little girl (Aurora) who really thrives on personal attention. Willingness to learn baby signs (no background required) would be good as she is already starting to do baby signs and reinforcement is great, thought we can definitely instruct you on that so no background is required.

Aida does not work and so one benefit we have is that we're open to schedule flexibility as we respect our au-pairs desire to enjoy Malaysia as much as we do on her own terms.

We are also open to our au pair doing other work apart from our work. Our budget is a bit tight honestly so if you can bring some freelance work along then we could definitely work that out.

Accommodation

Wifi is available. Our apartment is not very large, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, so space is a bit tight for everyone. We would all share the bathroom but we would have a space for our au-pair to stay.

We are in an amazing location (Star Residence), right in the heart of KLCC, across from Petronas Towers, KLLC Surya mall, etc. You can literally walk to everything from our apartment, and we don't have or need a car. This means you also can have an active social life in one of SE Asia's most dynamic cities.
