Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear au pair,
we are a four-headed family in a small town in northern Italy (South-Tyrol) and love to continue our experience with an au pair girl to host! We prefer mostly medium/long term stays, as it always takes some time to get used to the environment and to gain confidence with the kids.
The centre of the town is all reachable by foot and the connection with the bigger cities is done by bus or train.
Our town Lana (12k inhabitants) is situated in South-Tirol, a region of Italy, between the two cities Bolzano and Merano. The peculiarity here is that there are two official spoken languages (german and italian) and that is has an alpine environment with lots of nature surrounding all the towns and villages. The climate is quite mild, with hot summers (somewhat cooler in the height) and not so cold winters.
The next big city is Merano (40k inhabitants), reachable by bus in 15 min, while the capital city Bolzano (100k inhabitants) is approx. 50 min away.
You won't find big metropoles here, but many very nice towns and villages with a special flair and a big cultural heritage, where german/austrian and italian culture and lifestyle are surprisingly melted!

Job Description

Well, your tasks would be to help us und especially my wife to prepare the kids, sometimes playing with them and to be present at the meals and on the evening 2-3 times a week when the kids go to sleep. Your engagement would be higher on the days where I am working longer and lower when I am at home. Flexibility is the key, because my shifts are very variing.
It would be great if you could cook sometimes!
Consider also that three languages are spoken in our house, but when we refer to you, we and the kids will always talk to you in English. If you should be interested to practice German or Italian, we are willing to do that when the kids are not present.
It is very important to us that your cell phone shouldn't be used during your "on" time, neither for personal use nor to be shown to the kids.

Your pocket money would be 350 Euros per month plus
- a SIM card with unlimited data traffic and call time during your stay (valid in Italy)
- a permanent bus/train/cable cab ticket for the region during your stay

Accommodation

We live in a semi-detached house on a hillside. It has 3 stories and you would have your own room on the last floor with your own (most of the time) bathroom. The bathroom only had to be shared with our occasional guests (4-6 weeks/year max), who are sleeping in another room on the third floor.
