Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello to our future au pair! We are looking for someone to integrate with our family. The work hours would be predictable, but what happens within those hours would be flexible. My wife stays home with the kids, but help is needed to balance playing with the kids, cooking, shopping, appointments, and helping with homework. Austin, Texas is a great place to live and not like Texas in the movies. There are lakes, a river, and rolling hills. Hiking, Jeeping, and wine country are nearby. And downtown Austin is only a 25 minute drive.

Job Description

We are interested in an au pair because in a normal situation, families would live near each other and support each other. You could say that we are trying to build the first generation of this tightly-knit family model, but we need help to get there. We have had nannies for about 12 hours per week, but after a couple years, we have discovered that our need is greater than that. So since we cannot have a grandma or aunt live down there street from us, we are looking for an au pair. Responsibilities will include coordinating with my wife on how best to share cooking, organizing, playing with kids, driving to appointments, going shopping, diapering, etc...

Accommodation

The au pair would have her own room, and a shared bathroom. These are on the second floor of our house. The parents' bedroom, kitchen and dining room are on the first level. We are on a corner lot, and the park and pool are down the street from our house. You would have use of a car, unless drinking or very long distances involved.
