Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello and welcome to our family's profile!

We are the Family from Mödling, Austria: Nick, Toni, Mila (aged 12), and Mavie (aged 6). We're excited to explore the possibility of welcoming an au pair into our home and sharing our daily lives with someone who is looking to become a part of our family. We are fairly active and our family life is quite fast paced, although we also enjoy the occasional down time doing absolutely nothing.

About Us:

Nick: A business owner, who loves all things related to cycling, gym, running, cooking, sailing, and motorbikes. Whether it's riding my bike or spending the weekend on family outings, I'm always on the move and enjoy being outdoors. I am originally from England but have lived in Switzerland, France, and Austria.

Toni: I am partner in an aviation business and am passionate about singing, tennis, horses, and playing the piano. I love Nick's meals and I also like to cook. I also enjoy my morning walk with our dog, Pablo, a 10 month old Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog).

Mila: At 12, she’s our curious and energetic bookworm. She attends a local private school which she loves. Mila is passionate about Horses participates in Akrobatic class on Wednesdays, and loves experimenting with art projects at home. She loves animals and is currently into anything to do with "glow ups".

Mavie: The youngest at 6, she’s full of joy and loves to keep everyone entertained. Mavie enjoys singing, riding her bike, gym with her dad, playing with her cousins, and can often be found playing with the neighbours next door.

Our Home and Community:

We live in Austria in the beautiful town of Mödling, a suburb of Vienna. Our community is very welcoming and safe, with plenty of activities and areas perfect for children and adults alike. From beautiful woods and landscape, to community events, there’s always something to do. You can also get to Vienna in 25 minutes from Mödling by train. The train station is 10 minutes bike ride from our house.

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for an au pair who is responsible, kind, and enthusiastic about joining a lively family. Someone who is excited to engage with Mila and Mavie, helping with their daily routines, schoolwork, and who also shares some of our interests or brings new ones to our family. During the day there won't be much to do, so you will be relatively free. We would love someone who likes dogs as Pablo loves a walk. We are well networked in the area and our family is enormous, meaning there will be plenty of people we can connect you with to hang out with in your free time.

Our Expectations:

In addition to helping with the kids, although we have a cleaner who comes twice a week, we would appreciate assistance with light housekeeping related to the children, including keeping their rooms tidy and helping prepare their meals. We hope to find someone who is looking for a cultural exchange and to be an integral part of our family’s adventures.

We offer a supportive and loving home where you can feel safe and welcomed.

Accommodation

You will have a nice large room with its own brand-new bathroom (including shower) and a lockable door and with sufficient privacy. We are currently furnishing this room and will provide pictures of the new bed, furniture and decoration shortly.
The house is underfloor heated, with 750mbps mesh internet throughout. We also have an entrance gate from our house to the tennis club where there is a pool and tennis courts you can use.

In the summer we often spend time at our lake house at the nearby Neufeldersee.
