Dear Au-Pair,

We are very excited to have an Au-Pair in our home. Currently, we have an Au-Pair living with us and we are now looking for another Au-Pair to start once our current Au-Pair`s year is over in August or September 2025.
We have both lived abroad and done a lot of travelling and we like to learn about new cultures. Hosting an Au-Pair is a great experience for our children and us. We are happy to communicate in English (hence German skills are not required).

We are a family of four, consisting of Charlotte (8), Sophie (4), Simone (38) and Matthias (42).
Charlotte goes to school (2nd grade) and Sophie visits Kindergarten during the day. Simone works as an HR-professional, Matthias works as a lawyer at a company.

In our spare time we enjoy socializing with friends, sports and travelling. Both, Charlotte and Sophie play field hockey at a club in Muelheim (Sophie has recently started) and Matthias also plays every once in a while. Other than that both kids take swimming lessons. Charlotte plays football and Sophie goes to ballet.

Charlotte and Sophie are lovely. They like to play and do sports and are really easy to get along with.

Two years ago we have moved into our newly built house with a small backyard in a small and quiet street in Muelheim an der Ruhr. Everything is close by (often in walking distance, such as shops, cafes, gyms and all other kinds of sports, a public indoor pool, parks) and we are more than happy to show you around and help you get accustomed. Mülheim is a city of 170,000 inhabitants very close to Duesseldorf and Essen (20 minutes by train to center) and close to the Dutch border. It is part of the "Ruhrgebiet", a cluster of cities with about 5 Million people. Muelheim is well connected in terms of public transportation (bus, train, airport). Brussels, Cologne, Amsterdam, Bruges and even Paris, for instance, are easy to reach and Düsseldorf International Airport is 20 minutes from us.

You will have a room (with TV) of about 14 square metres in that house. We have three full bathrooms in the house of which you will share one with the kids (in practice, the kids will probably never use your bathroom, in the past 2 years they have always used the other ones). We have a cargo bike, we will also give you a private bike and a ticket for public transportation if needed. Also, you will be able to use one of our cars to transport the kids and occasionally for other activities.

We are looking forward to having a first video call to get to know each other better and let you know how a typical day with us may look like (besides supporting us with the kids only very light housework, usually no work on weekends)!
