Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are delighted to welcome you into our family in Megève, a beautiful ski village nestled in the French Alps. Here, you will enjoy a charming environment surrounded by mountains and nature, perfect for fresh air and tranquility.

Our home is just a 10-minute walk (or 3-minute drive) from the town center, where you can explore shops, cafés, and the friendly atmosphere of Megève. The children’s school is only 15 minutes away on foot, making daily routines simple and convenient.

For your travels and adventures, there is a bus station close to our home that connects to major nearby cities, such as Annecy with its famous lake, or Geneva in Switzerland, about an hour’s drive away.

Job Description

During the week:
• In the morning, I will need your help to get the kids ready (dressing, breakfast, etc.). I will take them to school and daycare, so you will be free from 8:30 am.
• In the evening, either I will pick up the kids, or their father will drop them off at home. If I’m not back yet, you will need to keep them entertained and comfortable until I return.
• If I am late, you should also be able to cook simple meals for them, such as pasta, vegetables, or proteins.
• Generally, I am back before their bedtime, so it’s rare that you’ll need to put them to bed during the week.
• You will have the entire day (from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm) free to take classes or enjoy your time.

On weekends:
• I will need you to keep the kids entertained for half a day on Saturday and Sunday. Either I or their father will take care of them for the rest of the day.
• There may be occasional evenings when I have to work. In these cases, you will need to put the kids to bed. These evenings will always be planned well in advance and discussed with you.

In Megève, there is also a high demand for babysitting. If you are interested, you could work with other families to earn extra pocket money.
