Work abroad in Astrid's family for 6-12 Months starting from Jan 2024 as an Au Pair and Live-in Tutor to take care of 2 children of 1 - 5 years old & 6 - 10 years old in Milnerton Cape Town, South Africa

We are looking for a Mandarin speaking Au-pair to join our family for a year or even longer to assist in looking after our two children and provide Tutoring. For this very reason we are looking for someone that is fluent in MANDARIN and ideally has a background in teaching Pre-schoolers/Primary School level.

Expectations and Responsibilities:
*Assist in preparing the children for School/Kindergarten in the mornings.
*Transporting children to and from school including extra mural activities.
*Assist the children with their homework.
*Create weekly engaging Mandarin lessons age and level appropriate for our kids
*Create a daily Mandarin Play session (Sing Songs, teach Chinese alphabet in a playful manner, etc.)
*Take the children to extra-mural activities and appointments.
*Play games with the children.
*Bed time routine
*Keep the children entertained when the family goes on vacation.
*Prepare meals for the children.
*Tidy up after the children, including their bedrooms
*Arrange playdates for the children.
*Do grocery shopping when asked
*Run errands when asked
*Help with light household chores (we have a Domestic/Cleaner - you will not be expected to perform Domestic Duties)

Language Skills required:
Mandarin - Fluent / Native level - crucial for the role!
English - Good
German - beneficial to have but not a must

Education Level:
at least High School Diploma (completed High School)
Tertiary Education in Early Childhood Development/Teaching - preferred but not necessary

Experience
beneficial to have worked in a pre-school environment ideally - either work experience or internship experience
Previous experience in being an Au Pair - ideal
