Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello hello!

We are a family living very close to downtown Nantes (15 minutes on foot), 25 minutes on foot from the train station, and the airport is accessible by bus. We have two boys, aged 4.5 and 2 years old, and both the school and daycare are within a 10-minute walk from our home.

We live in a house with a garden, and we will host our au pair on the ground floor, where there is a bedroom overlooking the garden and a private bathroom, allowing for almost total independence (we sleep on the top floor). Our cat, "Chouquette," will probably stop by to say hello from time to time!

Nantes is a vibrant city, well-connected by buses and trams, and just 45 minutes from the sea. It is also a very cultural city, with many music, dance, film, and theater festivals. Additionally, Nantes is a green city with plenty of parks and gardens, as well as many schools and universities.

Job Description

We need support in the evenings to pick up the boys, prepare dinner, and play with them, as well as to give us some breathing time on weekends.

We are looking for someone from mid June to late July. The boys will be in daycare until July 19th. From July 19th to August 1st, we will need our au pair to take care of them during the day as well (the exact number of days to be determined together).

If everything goes well and our au pair is comfortable with it, we would love to have them look after the boys for 24 hours (from noon to noon the next day).

Accommodation

The house is spacious, with two floors. Our au pair will have a private bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and toilet. The room is located next to the laundry room and near the door that opens onto the garden. The garden isn’t very big, but it’s lovely in the summer.

We have Wi-Fi, a bike available, and a large kitchen with a spacious living and dining area. We live in a cul-de-sac with a gate, where everyone knows each other. The street ends in a path that runs along the river.

We are a 5-minute walk from the tram and a 3-minute walk from the bus.
