Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

(Duration and start date are very flexible)

We are a French family of 4. My name is Jeff, my wife is Valérie and our 2 daughters are Jeanne-Alice (born in 09/2016) and Olympe (born in 01/2020)
Valérie has put on hold her Physical Therapy career to take care of our daughters.
I work from home as a freelance online marketer.
After 7 years in the US, we've decided to move to the UK to get closer to our family in France.
Jeanne-Alice is a very fun, curious, active and passionate girl. She is not shy and she loves to meet people and animals, and discover new things.
Olympe is a bit more shy but very funny once she knows you. She climbs everywhere!

We don't consider our Au Pair as an employee, she is more like a big sister for our kids.
Plz read our full "job" description for more details.

We live in a big house in the countryside. If you don't like nature, then you should look for another family.

At home we speak French, English and Spanish.

We look forward to learning more about you soon.

All the best

Job Description

Before we organise a video call, we want you to know that we are not looking for someone to just watch our kids.
We don't allow our daughters to watch TV yet because scientific studies show that it's bad for their development before they are 6 year old.
Therefore, we are looking for someone who really love to sd time and play with children.

We don't consider our Au Pair as an employee, she is more like a big sister for our kids.
It means that you will not have a specific schedule and specific duties.
You will share your time with us and participate to everything just like us.
Of course, you will have plenty of free time and we'll do our best to accomodate you.

As I said, you will not have a specific schedule and specific duties.
Instead, you will participate a little bit to everything.

Let me describe you a regular week day so you can understand better what I mean.
We expect you to be up around 7:30AM and available to help us with the kids.
We do most of the preparation but we will ask you to feed or entertain Olympe (the youngest) while we wash and dress up Jeanne-Alice.
At 9AM, Valérie (my wife) would take J-A to school and you would stay home with Olympe.
Valérie would return home around 9:30 AM and you will have some free time until 11AM.
Around 11AM, Valérie would prepare lunch or go to the gym and you would take care of Olympe.
Around 12PM, Valérie would pick up J-A from school unless she asks you to do it.
Around 12:30PM, we have lunch all together until around 1:30PM.
Until 2PM, Valérie has a nap and you take care of the girls.
In the afternoon, deding of the day, you will take J-A to sport (1 hour) and the rest of the afternoon would be free.
Around 5PM, you help with the girls and dinner preparation with Valérie.
Around 6PM, we have dinner together. During dinner you help with the girls.
Around 7PM you help us with the dishes and to give a bath to the girls.
Around 8PM you are free as the girls go to sleep.
This is an example, not a schedule. We expect you to be flexible and available.
When I say you help us with something, I mean we do it with you. You are part of the family, we do things together. You are not our employee and we are not a hotel. ;)
During weekends, you are free to sd time with us or on your own. When you are with us you participate to everything, just like any other member of the family.

You could meet other people during the afternoon, at night and during the weekends.

During our free time we go to parks, visit museum and places, do sport. We go out unless the weather does not permit it.
When the weather is bad, we play with our kids, cook, etc.

How does it sound?
