Dear Au Pair (German or Chinese only),

thank you for considering us as your host family! Here is a little bit about ourselves. We, the parents Jonathann and Amandine have been married for 4 years and have a 4 year old boy and 2 year old daughter, living in downtown Manhattan with breathtaking water views and proximity to parks. Jonathann is born and raised in Taiwan and Taiwanese. He is a doctor and has several medical and wellness clinics in NYC. Amandine is half French and half Chinese and born and raised in Germany. Amandine is a business woman and helps manage the family business. The parents are very active and love hosting and entertaining friends. Amandine tries to cook as much as possible at home and if she is not cooking the couple likes to explore restaurants in the city.

Their son Leonidas is 4 years old and raised tri-lingual. Amelie is2 years old. Amandine speaks to Leo and Amelie in German, Jonathann speaks to Leo in Chinese but the couple speaks English to each other. Leo is planning to attend a 2s program starting in September in the mornings. Currently Leo has a full time nanny that cares for the child from 9am until 5pm. Amandine works from home and when she is not in meetings or deep into work she tries to spend as much time as possible with Leo. Leo is a bundle of joy and energy! He started going to swimming and gym classes when he was only a few months old and loves to be active. A few blocks away from their home there is a community center where Amelie can go and attends several classes and meet her friends. Leo is in school from 8.30a until 2.30pm. As a family we enjoy playing together, family walks and traveling / exploring the world. On weekends we cook brunch at home and have family meals together, we love exploring museums and art shows. The kids recently got into music so we also listen and play music together. We have quite a few friends with similar aged kids and try to organize as many play dates as possible.

Our home is located in downtown Manhattan in Battery Park. It feels very much like a suburb but is only a few minutes away from Tribeca and Soho. We can walk to everything, including supermarkets, play areas, restaurants and shopping etc. We have a spacious 5BR duplex with an outdoor area where we BBQ in the summer. We have a few extra bedrooms and have converted one room to a chill / zen room where we can meditate, do yoga and exercise. Our building is full of families and also has a gym downstairs. We feel very fortunate that we have found a quiet place in the middle of the concrete jungle :)
