Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear potential Au Pair,

My name is Peter.

I am a 38 year old, busy Managing Director, living in Staffordshire in the UK.

Staffordshire is a county located centrally within the UK and I live in a town called Newcastle-under-Lyme.
My family home is a 30 minute drive from the major cities of both Manchester and Birmingham and situated in-between those major cities.

I have recently purchased a new home approximately 10 minutes drive from where I live now which is more rural and peaceful in the countryside.
I am renovating this home over the next 1 year and will be moving into it in approximately 1.5 years time.

I have been separated from my ex partner of 10 years for approximately 3 years now and due to work commitments and the busy life that I lead, I need assistance at home with my children during the time they are with me.

I have my children with me on the following 2 week rota:

Week 1 - Wednesday afternoon - . Collect from School 3pm, stay with me overnight and take to school on Thursday Morning
Thursday afternoon - Collect from School 3pm, stay with me overnight and take to school on Friday Morning.

Week 2 - Thursday afternoon - Collect from School 3pm, stay with me overnight and take to school on Friday Morning.
Friday afternoon - Collect from School 3pm, stay with me overnight.
Saturday - With me all day and stay overnight.
Sunday - With me all day and stay overnight.
Monday - take to school.

This means the children are with me approximately 45% of the time and stay with me 6 nights out of a 14 night rota.

I have some very basic requirements, which should leave plenty of free time for an Au Pair to have their own time.

I require, the children collecting from school, while I am at work on 3 of the 4 days.
I will collect on 1 of the 4 days.

They will need food preparing for tea on weekdays while I am at work and will need childcare during that time (between 3pm and 6:30/7 pm)
I return home from work at 6:30pm. (Approximately) Sometimes it may be a little later.

My 5 year old son may require you to read a school reading book with him and help with any homework.
I do not require you to cook for me or do any cleaning. I have a cleaner. You will also benefit from this.

If you wanted to cook for all of us, then this of course would be greatly appreciated, but it is not essential.
I require assistance sometimes at the end of a busy day with a few household jobs, but nothing strenuous.. just basic tidying, minimal ironing etc.

The weekend where the Children are with me, I require assistance and help throughout the weekend and with Family time, to make the weekend more enjoyable for the children and to lighten the workload between two people! This can be both at home and on day trips and outings.
I like the children to lead an active and interesting life and we try to get as much fresh air as possible.
My daughter plays football most Saturday mornings and is a team member at a local club.

I am looking for someone, very honest and caring and who has the patients to deal with my demanding children! (They can be demanding)!
My 5 year old son, likes to have a lot of attention and when left alone he and my daughter are likely to argue, as children do!

I welcome any questions from you and hope that what I have described represents an interesting opportunity for you to live and be part of my little family in the UK.

Many thanks for reading.
