Dear new family member,

We are a family of five. Since we are expecting another child in December 2023, we would appreciate some help with our two daughters, Ronja and Franka. Ronja will be 6 in November 2025 and is a very friendly child. She loves climbing and is happy when you go swimming with her or visit the playground. Franka will be 4 in July 2025 and is a lot of fun to be with. She loves climbing just as much as her sister, but also enjoys looking at books or painting. They both love dancing and singing. In general, they are both open to anything. There are many great things to do with children nearby. We also have bike trailers and bike seats for children, so you can be mobile. They are also registered in the gymnastics club. Eric is our youngest and will be 2 this year. It's mainly about waking the children up in the morning and getting them ready for kindergarten. In the afternoon, the two of them would have to be picked up from there again. Then, there's usually an activity like gymnastics or Wing Tsun. We usually split up. One looks after Eric, and the other takes the two older children to the activity. :)

My husband's name is Daniel, he's 39 years old, and he works as a civil engineer. He leaves the house very early, usually at 6:00 a.m. My name is Jenni, and I work in administration at the Federal Network Agency. I currently work part-time, 24 hours a day, while the children are at daycare.

Nearby activities: There are shops, a drugstore, and larger supermarkets within about a 5-minute walk. Swimming pools are easily accessible by bike, bus, or car. Niederkassel-Rheidt is located directly on the Rhine, a 5-minute walk away. The lovely beach bar "Mondi Beach" is also about a 7-minute bike ride away. Bonn is also easily accessible by express bus or bike; you can do pretty much anything there. There are countless shopping opportunities, many bars, restaurants, and also cultural attractions and museums. Cologne city center can be reached by public transport in about 60 minutes. Cologne and Bonn are carnival hotspots. Language courses can be attended in Bonn and Troisdorf.

We feel that our home, with its close proximity to Bonn and Cologne, would be a great place for an au pair stay. :)

Niederkassel is a small town (43,000 inhabitants) located exactly between Bonn (328,000 inhabitants) and the city of Cologne (1,000,000 inhabitants). Bonn is easily accessible by express bus in 20 minutes and by bike in about 30 minutes. Cologne Central Station can be reached by car in 30 minutes and by public transport in an hour. In general, Niederkassel also has many shopping opportunities and clubs on its doorstep.
