We are a family of 4 and we are looking for a childminder to help us on a daily basis. Our daughters will start homeschooling from September 2024 and we would need to have them looked after around 24 hours a week to be able to continue our professional activities.

We live in the heart of the island of Noirmoutier, which is very lively in the summer and a little quieter in the winter, but promises beautiful walks all year round!

There is a bus connection with Nantes (2 hours), one of the largest cities in France. It is also possible to go to the cities of Challans (1 hour by car) or La Roche sur Yon (1h30). On a daily basis, it is not at all necessary to leave the island, because all the amenities are nearby, but the bars and restaurants are mainly open in the summer and on weekends. It is therefore imperative to love nature, or to make trips to Nantes / Challans ...

Our need would a priori be from August / September 2024. We are looking above all for a trustworthy, enthusiastic and sociable person, but quite flexible because our schedules are quite changeable.

We would ideally like a Portuguese speaker but it is not essential, who would be happy to speak Portuguese with Diana and if possible with the children. An interest in pedagogy and in particular positive education would be a big plus to accompany us in homeschooling. Likewise, musical or artistic training or a passion to communicate will be welcome ☺️

In any case, we would like to welcome someone who feels good with us and with whom we would feel good, so as to live like a family. There is obviously no problem in spending quiet time in your room and going out to do your activities, but sharing meals and activities outside of childcare hours seems important to us, which is why we would like to have common values and compatible operations.

The girls are currently looked after at the nursery and at school, but we will switch to homeschooling from September 2024, and would therefore need care of approximately 24 hours/week to be able to continue our professional activities.

We will not be able to do a classic "au pair" contract but a French "home childcare" contract, which does not change anything for you but allows us to benefit from financial aid and therefore to be able to pay you properly (at least €365 per month while offering you room and board (i.e. a private room and meals)).
Normally with the au pair contract the hourly volume is limited to 5 hours per day but this will not be the case with the contract that we offer, it will be possible to do up to 10 hours in a day (but not systematically of course).

The visa application is exactly the same as for "au pair", we simply have to apply for a work permit at the prefecture in France, the process lasts 1 to 2 months, but once the paper is obtained you can apply for your "employee" visa and it is exactly the same as for "au pair".

These points are really very important for us because we do not have the means to make a classic au pair contract, if this is blocking for you it is unfortunately useless to contact us.

The days and times of care will vary because our schedules are very changeable, but it will be a question of taking care of the girls over long time slots so that the'we can work during this time.

For us it is essential to participate in daily household activities with us, like a member of the family: setting / clearing the table, doing the dishes, cooking a little, tidying and cleaning shared spaces (living room, kitchen, garden), his bedroom and bathroom, doing his own laundry or participating in the laundry if we mix them, and this will not be counted in the working time.

We would like someone who knows how to drive well because the activities are often quite far from home, and also someone comfortable on a bike because in the summer driving is complicated (too many cars ☺️).
