Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi there!
we are a family with 5 kids and are looking for an au-pair for our youngest 3 kids (twin boys of age 6, daughter 9). We live in Noordwijk which is a nice town close to the beach (10 minutes by bike, 20 minutes walking). Within 5 minutes walking you already enter the dunes. During summer this is a really touristic area.

We live in a compound area, very green and fairly quiet. City center (Noordwijkerhout) is within 5-10 minutes biking. Haarlem or Leiden are bigger cities close by (20 minutes by car), Amsterdam approx. 40 minutes by car.
There is a train station within 20 minutes biking distance from our home. The train takes you in approx. 10 minutes to Haarlem or Leiden and in 30 minutes to Amsterdam.

Job Description

It is important you are a person with patience, emotional intelligence, positivity and curiousity. That you are assertive, not too much of an introvert, take initiative, energetic.

The kids all love to play outdoor, also play indoor (family) games and be creative. They also love to watch television or play online games, but we rather keep this limited.

Your main tasks will be:
- helping the start up of the day routines, e.g. kids getting dressed, breakfast, prepare school lunch etc.
- On a regular basis you will also bring the kids to school. We ourselves also love to do this, but would be nice to back eachother up as we regulary have work obligations that start earlier in the morning.
-Also spending time with the kids in the afternoon after school, guiding them when playing with friends, always making sure they are safe (e.g. the kids are not yet allowed to bike outside of the park area where we live).
- prepare dinner for the family and if we are not in time at home, you can already eat with the kids and make sure they are well in time ready to go in time to bed (Jim and Tim go to bed around 19:00, Louise 20:00).
- cleaning up the kitchen after dinner and load/offload the dishwasher
- with the kids clean up the toys and playing area so in the evening it is a relaxed environment again
- helping with the evening routine to get them in bed in time. E.g. putting them in bath, making it more quiet en relaxed when bed time is approaching,
-we love to put the kids in bed ourselves, and alsmost always will we be in time back home from work. Sometimes we will ask you to do this.
- bring the kids to sports and collect them afterwards (football, hockey, swimming lessons). We also love to do this ourselves, but also here, would be nice if we can divide the tasks which gives us a bit more freedom with our jobs.
- bring them to play dates with friends and collect them
