Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a warm and welcoming family of German South Africans. I am blessed with two delightful children aged 2 and 4. Our household is complete with the playful presence of two adorable cats. We live in Oberursel, just a short 20-minute train ride from the vibrant heart of Frankfurt, where we enjoy the best of both worlds. Our home is nestled near the Taunus, a picturesque nature area, providing a perfect balance between city life and serene landscapes.

Job Description

I am looking for an au pair who is available to work on weekends and during afternoons/evenings. Your main role will be engaging with the children—playing, stimulating activities, and outings. You’ll also be responsible for cooking some meals for the kids and helping with basic household tasks such as tidying toys, vacuuming, folding laundry, and hanging washing. I handle most of the general cleaning, so your focus will be on the children and supporting our daily routine.

Accommodation

We have a 170sqm Reihenhaus - a 3 story house with a basement. The au pair will have a room on the very top floor, next to a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Our main family bathroom is downstairs so it is mostly a "private" bathroom but is shared with guests and occasionally with other family members. The room is very large, spacious 14sqm (but actually more like 16sqm, just calculated smaller because the roof is slanted). It is laminate flooring with a beautiful view out of the slanted roof window of the city skyline. Frankfurt City Centre is just 15min with the SBahn, which is just a 7min walk from our house.
