Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi, This is Saroj with my wife Amelia and our two little daughters Alicja(21 month) and Eva Shreeya(3 month). We are an Indian-Polish family, living in Oegstgeest, Leiden. The city center and central station is about 3km from our place, easily reachable by a bike or bus with a bus stop just few meters away from our residence. The city of Leiden is exceptionally beautiful with vibrant international community and lots of young people form University of Leiden. One can easily commute to big cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht in about 40 min by train from here, and more over The Hauge is just 12 min away with a ride by train. There are plenty of language schools in Leiden and The Hague.

Job Description

The need for an Au pair comes from a fact that I myself would be on fixed business trips weekly from Monday evening till Thursday evening, and work from home on Mondays and Fridays, while the kids will go to day care on Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays.

That is why we need someone to help my wife to take care of our kids, in particular Mon to Thu evenings and Tue to Thu mornings. This mostly includes preparing the kids to go to day care on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings, and once they are back from the day care helping out with preparing warm meals. We would expect you to help out in keeping the house clean, tidy, organized with laundries. And possibly baby seat them on Mondays or Wednesdays, with one of parents present as well. So in principle you will have a lot of time for yourself to explore the all aspects of living in The Netherlands. We may need you to drop and pick up the kids from the day care. During my absence you would require to put the elder daughter to bed since the wife would be mostly occupied with the infant.
