Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi there!

We are really looking forward to meeting you, and welcoming you to Canada's capital city, Ottawa. Our home is in a warm and inviting neighbourhood that is a few minutes' walk from the beautiful Ottawa river, and year-round walking, biking and cross-country skiing trails. We are a 15 minute drive from the downtown core, and close to public transit and biking trails that can also be used to get around. We would be happy to lend you a bike and/or car to get around, so that you can take in all that Ottawa and the surrounding provincial parks and cities have to offer - it really is a beautiful part of the country.

Job Description

We are looking for an Au Pair who would be happy to help us in the mornings to get our kids up, fed and out the door to school, help with some light cleaning around the house, and then again in the evenings with dinner and getting to bed, and for several nights a week, just being at our house while kids are sleeping, if we have evening commitments. Our jobs mean that Noah often leaves for work early in the morning, and I have early morning calls, so we are keen to find someone who can help us navigate the busy morning schedule.

A typical day might look like:

7:00-8:00AM - Help kids get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, and be ready to leave for school
8:00 -9:30AM - Breakfast clean up and light cleaning

4:00-5:00PM - Dinner prep
5:00 - 8:00PM - Help with dinner, playtime, baths, bedtime

2-3x per week - Be at house while kids are asleep to accommodate evening commitments.

We envision you having 1-2 days off per week, with at least one of those days being on the weekend.

You would have your own, large bedroom in our newly refinished basement, and own bathroom. We have a downstairs family room that you could frequently have to yourself as desired. Our house has WIFI and cable and you would be welcome to use our downstairs TV.
