Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello future au pair!

I'm Elisa, a researcher and proud mom to Ambra, a curious and joyful 4-year-old girl. We also share our home with Oliver, our super chill cat. We're looking for a kind, fun-loving girl who's excited to become part of our little family—even if just for a while!

Ideally, you’ve already had an au pair experience, enjoyed it, and now look forward to doing it again with a new family. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

AP will have free evenings and weekends! On Fridays, we usually reach our beach house—and you’re always welcome to come with us or enjoy some time at a quiet home, whichever you prefer.

More than anything, I want this to be a special experience for both of us. I want Ambra to grow up knowing how beautiful it is to learn from different people, and I hope you’ll take a little bit of Italy—and our laughter—with you when you go. And who knows, maybe you'll come back someday… as a friend!

Job Description

AP will be sharing a room with Ambra three nights a week, and the rest of the time, the room will be all yours. AP is asked to do with Ambra some activities in order of her attitude. For example, the one who likes swimming can enjoy with Ambra the city pool, the one who can play some instruments can play with her, the sportive one can go to the park and so over.

Ambra stays in Parma half the time and with her dad the other half, so on the days she’s with me, you’d help out for about 5 hours, mostly in the afternoon after school and while I’m working. On the other days, I’d just ask for a hand around the house—no more than 2 to 3 hours.

We offer a regular contract according to the Italian law and a pocket money of €250, but if you’re a great fit and everything goes well, I’d be happy to increase it up to €300.

We live in a bright, modern apartment in the most lovely area of Parma, full of charming cafés, gelato shops, bakeries, and even the city’s most beautiful park—just behind our house.

Parma is a large city in the center of the Italian food valley. It is very international as it hosts European schools and a university of excellence, you will enjoy it for sure! AP also has her own bike to get around whenever she wants and by bike it only takes 10 minutes to reach the city center!
