Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

My name is Fabienne and I am a single mum of two primary school aged girls called Mia (11 years old) and Astrid (8 years old). Mia and Astrid are with me for 8 out of every 14 days, and they go to their father’s home for 6 days. We also have a cat called Nelson.

We live in a Perth suburb called Innaloo, which is located:
- 11 km from Perth city
- 6 km from Trigg Beach
- 2 km from shopping centre
- 7 km from the train station

Job Description

I need an au pair to:
- drive my children to school and back every second week (5 days per fortnight). Their school is a 10 minute drive;
- supervise my children after school for a couple of hours while I am at work (5 days per fortnight);
- help my children with their homework for a couple of hours after school while I am at work (5 days per fortnight);
- drive my children to extracurricular activities occasionally;
- supervise and take my children on outings during the school holidays (sometimes with me, sometimes without me while I work);

You will need to:
- work an average of 15 or 20 hours per week (15 hours per fortnight during school term and 25 hours per fortnight during holidays);
- have or be able to get an Australian driver’s licence;
- understand basic english (does not need to be fluent);
- like cats.

Accommodation

Accommodation:
- I live with my two children in a three bedroom, one bathroom home.
- you will have your own bedroom however need to share the bathroom with us
- our home is being renovated in the next six months to add another toilet and bathroom
- for eight days the children will be home, and for six days it will only be me and I work in the office on those days

Benefits of being an au pair with my family:
- we live near family who also have children so you will have other opportunities to earn money through babysitting (if you want);
- you will have a 6 day break every fortnight so can do other things during that time such as get a second job or study;
- my children are really nice and love spending time with older girls, other cultures and learning new languages;
- you are welcome to use my car during your leisure time (as long as I don’t need it);
- we have wifi.
