Au Pair Wanted NOW!
Please ONLY write if you are ALREADY in Germany/EU OR from Belarus, Moldova, or Switzerland! Thank you!

1 child, male, 10 years old
Germany, City of Pforzheim
(Federal State of Baden-Württemberg)
Nationality: German
Upscale family household, au pairs with higher education and/or life experience are welcome
Au pair experience: 9 years

A welcoming family is looking for you, a proactive, loving au pair! Become a member of our family in Baden-Württemberg, in the world-famous gold city of Pforzheim!

Hello dear au pair!
We look forward to hearing from you! You'd be best suited to us if you're a cheerful, kind, positive, quick-witted, tidy, clean, communicative, independent, proactive, and responsible person with clear future goals, a quick grasp of the situation, and a great sense of humor. You're looking forward to joining us as a full-fledged family member (if possible for a year), helping us, and actively supporting us, and you'll receive the same from us!

You can fly to Stuttgart or Frankfurt am Main, where we'll be happy to pick you up!

If you're already in Germany and want to change host families, we'll gladly pay for your second-class train ticket to us!

Here's a little about us:

The child's mother, Maria, is 47 years old and a musician by profession—violinist, concertmaster, and orchestra director of the Badische Philharmonie at the Pforzheim City Theater, a public servant, and boss of 38 employees.

Host father Volker is 63 years old, works as a department head at a medical technology company in Munich, responsible for the company's Austrian and Swiss divisions, and, as such, often travels for work.

Both parents are busy people who are in the public eye.

Our son David turned ten in January. David is in fourth grade at elementary school and is a very good student. Parents and teachers are authorities for him, just as a correspondingly intelligent and caring au pair is!

He is loving, funny, highly intelligent, musical, and athletic. He likes to make crafts out of clay, paper, and cardboard, paint pictures, do homework (especially math, English, and German), build marble runs, is currently learning how to conduct children's experiments, and enjoys climbing trees in our garden. David likes watching cartoons, swimming, watering flowers, growing vegetables in our garden, blowing soap bubbles, playing with sand, archery, walking, cycling, and he loves painting with acrylic paints, felt-tip pens, and colored pencils. He also enjoys playing board games ("Ludo," "Ladders and Snakes," etc.). He enjoys playing Minecraft and plans to start music school and singing lessons soon, as well as joining the children's choir at the theater where his mother works. He enjoys scootering, skateboarding, sledding, and ice skating. He's already trying to surf on vacation at the beach and uses a bodyboard and flippers. David enjoys mathematics, astronomy, and physics, already knows the formulas of relativity and the Einstein-Rosen Bridge, and would love to go to university to become an astronaut. He not only knows all the planets in the solar system and their moons, but also most of the known stars. He also loves reading books, is very interested in geography, loves animals (he'd like to have a dog and chickens at home, we'll see...), likes to cuddle with stuffed animals and go shopping. He enjoys attending musical theater and acting (with his current au pair). He's also become very interested in politics, as both his parents are involved in it. He also loves watching sports and various sports.

David already has a yellow belt in judo and is currently training for his orange-yellow belt (once a week).

David is very meticulous and tidy. He likes to cuddle, kiss, hug, fool around, laughs a lot, and quickly accepts a loving au pair because he already has a lot of experience with it (eight years)! An au pair is a playmate and big sister to him, who takes care of him, especially when his parents are at work. And that's a very good thing!)

In short: David is wonderfully busy; he feels the affection and care of an au pair very well, and he loves all his previous au pairs very much; they are family to him, and the feeling is reciprocal. If you have earned his respect as an adult, it's forever!

Here's something about our daily routine and yours:

-David goes to school Monday through Friday, leaving on the school bus at 7:00 a.m. and returning at 1:15 p.m.
-Maria works 2.5 to 4 hours in the morning and/or evening, but not every day. She, aAs a musician, I have many days off; there's always a schedule set for a month in advance.
-Volker works from home a lot, occasionally traveling internationally for a few days; he's always home on weekends.

-You, dear au pair, can attend intensive German courses: Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pforzheim Adult Education Center, just 2 km from our house, in the city center. You can get there by bus (the stop is 600 meters away), ride a bike, or simply walk down the hill and enjoy the beautiful city view. Of course, you'll receive a monthly ticket (a Germany ticket for local public transport throughout Germany!) for the bus rides, which we pay for, and a bike for you to use.

You are also welcome to attend regular courses, for example, once or twice a week; it's up to you.
Our adult education center offers all German courses from A1 to C1 levels; you can complete each course with a state examination (telc, recognized throughout Europe), if you wish.

``` Of course, you will have enough time from us to do your homework and, if you wish, help with it!
-You will have 1.5 days and 4 mornings a week free (e.g., for attending classes), sometimes also in the evenings.
-Your contribution to our household/babysitting will average 30 hours per week.
-In your free time, you can do what you enjoy, such as traveling, visiting friends, but also, if you wish, spend time with us and practice German by speaking with us.
We would be happy to help you learn German.
Maria speaks German, Russian, and English; Volker speaks German and English; David speaks German.
A friendly, helpful, uncomplicated, loving, and respectful atmosphere at home is very important to us!
As our au pair, you will be treated as the older daughter, who will take care of a younger host brother and always be available to help the host parents.
Our previous au pairs from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia will remain a part of our family forever. All of the girls so far have decided to complete either an apprenticeship or a degree course in Germany. They are all very successful. We were very happy to help them with this! We have a very warm relationship with our previous au pairs; they visit us regularly, including with their partners and husbands. You are warmly welcome to join us in this area!
Also:
-We welcome you to meet other people, if our working hours allow it. Our au pairs always find it easy to make friends in our city and surrounding areas, Russian, German, and international.
-You are welcome to visit the theater where Maria works, go to the cinema, a cafe, or a club with friends, go jogging by the river or walk/bike in the wildlife park/forest right next to our house, or visit museums and exhibitions, travel to other cities, meet someone new. We look forward to you going out and gathering new experiences!
-You are welcome to spend your free time at home; we have a large library, many CDs and DVDs, you can play our piano, or simply relax on a lounger in the garden, or swim in our swimming pool—all of this is at your disposal.
-You will gain insights into German culture from two academic host parents, learn how to run a household and raise children as is customary in Germany, and intensively learn High German through language courses and communication with us.
-If you wish, you are welcome to speak to our previous au pairs if you have any questions about our family.
We will experience this year together; our joys and sorrows are yours, and vice versa!
We are warm, open, helpful, cheerful, spirited, and humane, and we look forward to meeting you, dear au pair!
We expect: high flexibility, empathy, perseverance, interest, a lot of hard work, affection, helpfulness, cleanliness, punctuality, conscientiousness, initiative, caring, communication on an equal level, mutual trust, ambition, honesty, openness, a sense of family belonging, and discretion.
If you feel you possess these qualities, you are very welcome to join our family!
Best regards,
David, Maria, and Volker
Our home:
We live in a house with six rooms, two bathrooms, a balcony, a terrace with a grill, and a large garden with fruit trees, flowers, a small vegetable garden, a garage with various vehicles, and a small swimming pool in Pforzheim, with a beautiful view in an upscale neighborhood and a short walk to the city center.
Our region:
We live in the Northern Black Forest, a beautiful, green region with many spa towns near France and Switzerland, which the Brothers Grimm described in their fairy tales. Our town is known for its gold and jewelry industry. Our region is known for its many poets, theologians, astronomers, and scientists. We have many palaces, castles, cycling and hiking trails nearby, and a wealth of cultural offerings. Our training and study opportunities in Baden-Württemberg are excellent and internationally sought-after.
What we do in our free time:
We enjoy riding motorcycles, listening to music, hosting interesting guests, discussing politics, medicine, religion, and much more. We enjoy tending to our garden, and celebrating parties, birthdays, and simply weekends at home or at the theater with our au pairs.
Our host father, Volker, loves to cook, is currently learning to play the guitar, and is an excellent connoisseur of music. He is a man who has traveled extensively and seen a lot of things around the world.
Host mother Maria has many hobbies that have nothing to do with music (e.g., building furniture, planting flowers and vegetables).
In addition to their regular work, both host parents are socially and politically active and very present in our town/district.
We ask for the following help:
David:
-Cook, serve, and feed him
-Take him for walks/bike rides, play soccer/basketball in the garden
-Play board games with him
-Prepare mashed potatoes/fries/rice/pasta and meatball soup/salmon soup for David, as well as prepare dessert
-If necessary in the evening:
Feed him, shower him, and put him to bed
-Clean David's clothes and shine his shoes (especially after school)
-Helping David get dressed and undressed,
organize his clothes and toys
-Help with homework
-Ironing
-Accompany him to judo and singing lessons/ride him in the afternoons 2 to 3 times a week (by taxi)
Household:
We love cleanliness and order and do a lot of things ourselves. Everything has its place, so you don't have to search for things when you need to hurry. Please help us with this, we would be very grateful! :
- Vacuuming and dusting - if necessary
- Wet mopping the floor (once a week)
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Unloading and loading the dryer/washing machine
- Taking out the trash
- Helping put away groceries after shopping, etc.
- Helping water the flowers
- Planning/organizing weekly activities with host mother Maria (walks, theater, guests, parties, etc.)
And, most importantly: of course, lots of love, healthy strictness (you're the boss!), and security for our little David.
Your loving authority in dealing with a child is very much appreciated!
Also:
We are not vegetarians, have no allergies, and enjoy celebrating in our free time with cocktails, wine, and delicious food. You are warmly welcome!
It's no problem if you are a vegetarian.
At home we only speak German together and therefore ask for at least a very good A2 German level (preferably higher) !! Theis very important, especially for David and for you, as well as for your communication with him. If you, dear au pair, are having a bit of trouble at the beginning, Maria will be happy to translate something into Russian or English.
We expect a lot of support from our au pair in everyday life and give our au pair a lot of support in return, both in everyday life and for all your future plans!
It is also important to us that our au pair is vaccinated against the most important things, such as measles, tuberculosis, hepatitis B, etc., and that he is free of AIDS and long-term COVID.
We do not have any contagious diseases that would affect our work. We expect the same from our au pair!
We are very much looking forward to meeting you!
With kind regards,
David, Maria, and Volker
