Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear AuPair!
We would like to welcome you to our profile!
We are a family of 5. Mom Katja (42 years old) and dad Robert (46 years old) are the parents. Our 3 sweet and bright girls are Annika (12 years), Maja (10 years) and Valerie (9 years).
We have a lot going on in our lives, so we have decided to take in an AuPair so that she can support us on the one hand, but also be part of our great life.
Robert has been working as a technician for a very large company in Graz for 20 years. He works from Monday to Thursday. Sometimes he works from home, but mostly at the company in Graz. On Fridays he is at home and looks after the children and the household.
Katja works as a psychologist in a rehabilitation clinic. She is currently training to become a clinical psychologist. Katja works 32 hours a week. She is usually at home one day a week and has time off.
Our 3 children still go to school, of course. Annika is in year 2 at the middle school in Heiligenkreuz am Waasen. Maja and Valerie go to elementary school in Pirching am Traubenberg. Maja in the 4th grade and Valerie in the 3rd grade.
All 3 learn very easily and we have no problems with them at school.
They currently go to after-school care from Monday to Thursday, eat lunch there and also do their homework there. When you start working for us as an au pair, they will no longer go to after-school care every day. However, we will not cancel this completely because they also enjoy going there.

Graz is the nearest major city to our home. It's about 25 minutes by car from our house to Graz. There is also a public transport service that takes about 50 minutes.
There are several language schools in Graz.
Graz has around 300,000 inhabitants - so it is no longer a small city.

We will provide you with your own car that you can use both in connection with your work with us and privately.

Job Description

We expect the au pair to provide general help in the household.
There will be various tasks that we will divide between us 3 adults (Robert, Katja and AuPair) at the beginning of the week.
The tasks vary depending on the project, season, etc.
Below is a list of some of the things we usually have to do:

- Preparing school snacks for the children
- Taking the children to school by car (2km). And sometimes pick them up. They usually take the school bus home at lunchtime / in the evening.
- Cooking lunch for the children and the au pair when the children don't go to after-school care.
- Looking after the children at home in the afternoon, or taking them on an outing (swimming in the summer, ...)
- Doing the laundry (washing, drying, putting away in the cupboard, ironing is NOT done here)
- Tidying the house. (We have our own help for cleaning)
- Looking after one of our 3 children at home when this is ill.
- Looking after the children all day during the school vacations and taking them on outings.
- Starting the robot vacuum cleaner in the rooms and occasionally cleaning the robot.
- Simple work in our garden. (Harvesting vegetables, cutting bushes, weeding, etc.)
- Clean dishes in the dishwasher.
- Take the dog for a walk when boredom sets in.

Accommodation

The room for the au pair is very large. There is a large, comfortable sofa bed and a desk. We will also provide a comfortable larger bed and a wardrobe for storing clothes, etc.
The au pair will have her own bathroom right next to her room.
There is a large flatscreen TV in the au pair's room with satellite TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.
Fast WIFI / WLAN is available. We have a good fiber optic internet connection.
