Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a traditional family, with two little ones, ages 7 and 9, and two greyhounds who love to run. We live in a spacious and modern house, in a town very close to Santander. We like nature, walking with the dogs, playing sports, going to the beach, and swimming in the pool, but we also like to enjoy the city.
We are looking for someone to take care of our children while we work during the summer months, but also share experiences with them and create an emotional bond with them and the whole family while they practice their favorite language: English.
We live in a large three-story house. On the lower floor there is a garage and storage room. On the first floor there is a large living room, the kitchen with a dining room and a large room with a bathroom where the au pair would stay. On the upper floor there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, where we and Claudia and Hugo (who share a room) sleep, leaving another room for games and other uses, which can also be for the au pair.
Pontejos is a small town, with about 1,200 inhabitants. It is about 10km from Santander and just 1km from El Astillero, which is a medium-sized town, with about 8,000 inhabitants and has all the services.
In the town there are many paths to walk, there are many houses and animals (cows, sheep, chickens...). The people are very friendly and respectful.
It is well connected, you can go to Santander by bus or you can also walk to El Astillero, (you just have to cross the bridge) and from there you can take the train to Santander. By car or motorcycle it takes 10 minutes. By train or bus about 15 minutes.
We like to walk around the town with the dogs, take long walks, or even go on a hike with a backpack and sandwich and take a walking route with them and with family and friends. We also practice sports (basketball, cycling, swimming...). We really like going to Santander to visit family, take a walk or go for a drink with friends.
But we also spend a lot of time at home, enjoying the garden, the orchard or the pool. We like to gather the family at our house or our friends and have a good barbecue.

Job Description

We would like the au pair to accompany Claudia and Hugo during the summer vacation period during the time we are working, approximately between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Ideally, you could do educational activities with them, games, drawing, reading, etc., and also play a sport or help them do some household chores, communicating with them in English.
Claudia and Hugo are quite autonomous, they play a lot together and are very responsible, so they do not need continuous attention during those hours, simply planning the activities to be carried out and the supervision of someone responsible.
The only task that the au pair will have to be responsible for is serving breakfast and lunch, which we will previously prepare the day before.
The rest of the day, as well as on weekends and holidays or when one of the parents is on vacation, the au pair will be fully available to do whatever they want, always respecting the rules and schedules of the house.
In exchange, the au pair will have accommodation, food, hygiene and cleaning products, a transport voucher and a small weekly remuneration to be agreed upon.
