Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

AU PAIR ON A CATAMARAN IN THE CARIBBEAN THIS SPRING!

Our passion is travelling the world by sailboat. We are a Canadian couple who have been cruising for twelve years, now with five year old twin boys. We sailed across the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean in 2024 and are now enjoying the windward islands of the Caribbean. Join us as part of our family as we island hop this spring!

I worked as an au pair in France in my early 20's and had a wonderful experience. We have hosted four amazing au pairs onboard, over the past few years... all of these experiences have been so positive and impactful, with lifelong connections. References available.

It's important for us to have a happy boat, to mutually enjoy the unique travel experience, and provide a supportive environment for our boys to grow and learn.

Job Description

Start Date: April 1st, 2025 (ish)
End Date: May 31, 2025 with opportunity to extend

There is only a small amount of flexibility on dates. We're looking for someone to join us in April 2025 through to the end of May 2025, and longer if you wish.

THE IDEAL PERSON:
- Has experience with kindergarten or early school aged children
- Can skillfully direct play, arts and crafts, learning activities, etc.
- Patient - uses calming language to help shape good behavior
- Is a street smart traveler
- Happy to jump in and help with anything needed: laundry, meal prep, tidying up, errands, etc.
- Ready for adventure and loves the water
- Easy going, go with the flow personality
- Appreciation of a healthy outdoor lifestyle
- Excited at the idea of getting to know the sailing life!

WE OFFER:
- Your own cabin and head (bathroom) on the catamaran
- Full room and board; you become part of the family
- Weekends are your own
- $1,000 CAD (or currency equivalent) for each month
- Exposure to a really cool sailing lifestyle!
- The opportunity to visit some of the most iconic islands in the world, by boat! Swim with turtles, hike the jungle, drink rum punch while watching the sunset. It's amazing. Most sailing passages between islands are day trips, ie. not overnight sails. Expect to get to know Martinique, Saint Lucia, the Grenadines, and Grenada ... and more.
