Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello,

We live in Raleigh, NC, about 15 minutes drive from the downtown area. It is a medium size city, and there is plenty to do. The public transportation is limited to buses, so you'll want to be able to drive!

There is a community college that teaches English about 10 minutes away, and another campus about 30 minutes away. I believe that beginner English classes are only taught on the campus that is further away.

Job Description

Looking for Au Pair in Raleigh, NC, Starting Soon!

Schedule:
We have a standard schedule but can occasionally accommodate as needed:
- Monday to Wednesday: 1 PM - 9 PM (kids go to bed around 7:30-8:00 PM, with coverage extending to 9 PM in case we’re out)
- Alternating Schedule:
- Every other week: Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM - 8 PM
- Weeks without weekend work: Thursday and Friday, 1 PM - 9 PM

Potential Schedule Shift Starting in January:
- Monday to Wednesday: 7 AM - 3 PM
- Alternating Schedule:
- Every other week: Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM - 8 PM
- Weeks without weekend work: Thursday and Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM

If this schedule change takes place, you’ll be working alongside another nanny to provide individualized attention for each child during developmental activities.

Responsibilities:
- Engaging in learning activities and play with our children to support communication skills
- Helping with morning routines, diaper changes, and mealtime
- Tidying up after play and keeping the kids’ spaces organized
- Occasionally joining us for family events, activities, holidays, and vacations

Who We’re Looking For:
Someone who is:
✔️ Experienced working with young children, especially those with speech delay
✔️ Able to follow a consistent schedule, with some flexibility as needed
✔️ Independent and able to cook their own meals and keep personal spaces tidy
✔️ A team player who can also work independently
✔️ Tidy and organized, keeping the kids’ environment clean and safe
✔️ A licensed driver (we provide a manual car for personal use)
✔️ Patient, kind, and encouraging, able to support our children’s learning
✔️ Looking for a kind and considerate host family
